Erg, let's try this again. The ActiveX control does not know the absolute path to "C:\Documents and Settings\[USER]\Local Settings\Temp" because it lacks knowledge of who the "[USER]" is.

That's interesting. Does it run as a different user?

The ActiveX control does not know the absolute path to "C:\Documents and Settings\[USER]\Local Settings\Temp" because it lacks knowledge of who the "[USER]" is. It appears to work fine on my Windows XP laptop.

"Erg, let's try this again. The ActiveX control does not know the absolute path to "C:\Documents and Settings\[USER]\Local Settings\Temp" because it lacks knowledge of who the "[USER]" is." Virus writers will guess that the user is Admin and hit 80% of all home XP users correctly, no?!

Are you sure about this? Can ActiveX access environment variables? If so, then it will know %USERPROFILE% or %USERNAME%, and be able to access the file.
