WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A U.S plane filled with Libyan nuclear components landed this morning at a U.S. facility in Knoxville, Tennessee, for destruction, a senior administration official said.

"It is chock full of nuclear materials," the official said. "They let us take out some extraordinary stuff."

>>I am gobsmacked.

That works.

I am equally amazed. Now we can't write off DEBKA so easily when they publish the crazy stuff that doesn't ever come true.

Are you calling President Bush a tyrant? If so, your reply is even dumber than most of your others, and that's saying something! Don't forget, one of the several reasons given for going to war in Iraq was subduing other regimes desirous of WMD or otherwise sowing mayhem in the world. Our actions in Iraq are paying dividends, but you can't admit it. BTW: Have you come up with a reason yet for saying that WMD programs are okay for Hussein to have? No? Didn't think so...

Where did you get that from? President Bush a tyrant

Why do you support appeasing dictators like Gadhafi?

Different missions with different profiles and risk factors. In an era of portable NDB Beacons and shoulder fired stingers which cost less than a used car, I think I'd like the publicity over kit bombs which were collecting dust in Lybia making way in our airspace kept below Abdulah's reading pleasure while he cooks up plans in Bayone New Jersey, Thank You!

Tell me about it long after it took place and was completed. I'm not that desperate for news! That's why God made hot babes on the weather channel(slow news periods).

Another angle though is that when we find WMD's in Iraq, it will be claimed that they are really Lybian items we dropped off in Iraq and then miraculously discovered.

Im sure Libya would be shipping their WMD to us if Qadaffi was not scared of being removed like Saddam.

Oh yeah! It was those 18 years of UN Sanctions, don'cha know! They just took a while, right? Yeah, that's the ticket...

Bush a tyrant? Sheesh! Some bozo's never did grasp six years of American Government in K thru 12. Now if his accusations were pointed at the Judiciary.......he'd have a point.

You truly have a problem grasping reality. There is nothing in my replies to even remotely suggest that I am appeasing dictators. On the contrary, your ceaseless and baseless attacks on President Bush can be taken as a defense of Hussein.

The amount of restricted airspace in Tennessee is really quite amazing. I was ferrying a Piper Colt over the state using my handheld GPS. Like a rat thru a maze. At first I thought it was due to the gold depository (supressed Goldfinger dilusions) and then I realized more later while sleeping in an FBO near Knoxville.

I guess as long as the approach to land is a tight spiral from 30,000 feet and has an escort from F-16's I'm jiggy wit dat.

Why doesn't Libya deserve a regime change?

The only reason Gadhafi made this move was to secure some oil contracts with foreign business men; I was just wondering why you were giving him what he wants aka as appeasing?

your ceaseless and baseless attacks on President Bush can be taken as a defense of Hussein.

Ah, I see you are a Rightwing Marxist.

Hopefully, this is not going to be a repeat of the North Korea situation. We'll give up those weapons if the US gives us stuff, really, we mean it.

Oh that's just silly. There are countless countries that would be more than willing to make some deals with Libya and thwart imposed sanctions. Russia, France and Germany vis-a-vis Iraq would be an example of such.

Happiness is the Bush Doctrine.

We're witnessing the most brilliant foreign policy of our nation's brief history.

A little geography help - the bullion depository is at Fort Knox, which is in KY, not TN. I moved gold there the summer after H.S. to support a joint Treasury / GAO audit. Dad was Deputy Provost Marshall of Forst Knox, and played golf with the guys in charge of the depository, so I had an "in" when it came time to hire casual labor.

And yes, that Oak Ridge restricted area is pretty big. I was involved in the construction of some office buildings for Bechtel and SAIC in the late '80s in the town there, and looked at some maps of the area once.

Ronald Reagan had that one nailed. "Trust - with verification" is the ticket for Libya. If we don't verify, we're asking for trouble.

Jim Angle (FOX NEWS) just asked Scott McClellan Why are we bring this into the country.

Better the nuclear material come to the US this way than other ways I can think of.

Just for the record and for those geographically challenged, The airport serving Oak Ridge Tennessee is down the road a piece in Knoxville.
