My respect is gone to....like Paul O'Neill, Pat has handled defeat badly. A good indicator of character, imho.

And as for our President, he marches to the beat of the Almighty Drummer. Usually that impacts positively on conservative values, sometimes it tramps a bit on um, but because our President is into doing it right ( not in the right vs leftist sense, but in the Christain sense), my trust and respect for this man grows and grows.

He is no one's doormat, including ours, or those who back him. I love that.

On a personal level, this President has awakened in me the desire to be a better person, a better citizen and, for that, I flat out love this man. He inspires me and, imho, has already raised up a generation who understand what a gift freedom and our terrific nation truly me.

He has lifted the dark cloud of looming cultural breakdown the clinton's aspired to and laid across our nation and replaced it with vision, steadfastness, principle and hope. In spite of 9/11 and vitriol that still seeps thru from, as I believe, the clinton era of depravity and numbness, where any means to an end was ok, he has taken the reins and driven this nation up and out of the doomed ideology that was being heralded by special interests groups, groups which hold no love of what this country's foundations mean.

President Bush is a great leader because his love for God lifts him above petty influences and temptations and gives him the courage to do what is right, not what is simply popular or politically correct.

This makes all the difference.

It is his character that trumps everything else....and it is his character that causes the liberals to go beserk.

Kind of a neat way to defeat your enemies, no? :^)

Your post reminds me: I think most Republicans, and a majority of Americans, tend to think well of George W. Bush's intentions and his heart. This is why all of the myriad attacks on his character by the Democrats find no resonance.

So, while it is easy to find Republicans who have disagreements with the President on certain policies, out in the real world it is rare to find one who doesn't support his reelection.

In my opinion, this is healthy and good. After all, we believe in and practice self-government, and therefore think for ourselves.
