Kruschev wasn't a moslem, I've never heard that in relation to him. He was just an old-school Russian.

But maybe it's also a custom in whatever part of Russia he came from.

I wonder if he was Tatar though? The Tatars were descended from moslems, weren't they? Am I misremembering here?
