1. The streaker is an infamous British streaker...Mark Roberts, I believe.
2. There are 100 easier ways to distribute a biochem weapon then with helium ballons.

Is there any chance we're dealing with an American version of AQ - kind of a Nation of (hold your breath) Islam version? I have middle eastern friends, and know the idea structures they use (not terrorist idea constructs, but middle eastern idea structures)-- and some of this new stuff doesn't quite fit. It's more Chicago - south side type thinking.
I can't point to any examples right now, but I'll keep an eye out for what I'm talking about. Anyhow, have you noticed this?

"why bother with filling balloons and taking them to gas stations and motels."
Balloons are innocuous in our culture and there was a reference (homeland security report or video or some such official heads up) to their usage on some post yesterday. It would take a very, very, very small amount of smallpox to cause a problem...no need to raise eyebrows spraying it from a vehicle. Two clusters of balloons could be bad news...hope and pray this doesn't turn out but as Rummy called for paranoids to find all the plots we are obligated to do our part ;)

Thank you. Good news on the streaker then...just a stunt. Of course there are many easier ways to hit with a bio weapon but you have to crawl into the mindset of these crazed idiots and see that the balloon would have an appeal from the end of EID jihad standpoint. I can see someone of a similar mentality to that shoebomber really getting into balloons.

Enjoy your folks JG! I lost mine in their early 80's and no terror threat would keep me from them!

I agree. Whoever is on the web posting crazy "all you infidels will die" things must be laughing his head off when he sees how scared he makes us all. These nuts have nothing to do with Al Quaeda. They are just yanking our chains.
The best way to avoid terror within the USA is to close the borders and pay close attention to all visa holders.

Even more interesting is that we're supposedly right smack dab in the middle of the "critical threat period" (according to NEIN).
Yet, neither Sean nor Jill's site have a single update.
Hmmmmmm....
Totally agree, tho, about the "'net jihadis". I highly doubt they are "real" AQ, as they would get stomped on for opening their yaps IF they were real.

Obviously take Quayle with about 10 grains of salt, he threw up the Philadelphia stadium threat hours before the NFC Championship there, then he forgot about it and left it as a threat till the end of January (Terrorists attacking empty stadiums?) ;)

It could come right back at them via international travel. (The world is a very small place nowdays). And, while I know there are some here who subscribe to the belief that the jihadis don't care, I'm not so sure that they really want their own countries decimated by something like Smallpox. If they're smart, they don't - and they will also realize that as hard hit as we might be by something like smallpox, it would:
a) be worse for the Islamic nations, and
b) be a public relations disaster for them. However, the jury is still out on the question of whether they're smart.
