I wonder how many regular commuters to NYC are going to call in sick- maybe plead superbowl excesses- just to be on the safe side.

I was thinking about it all last week. I was seriously considering staying home tomorrow. I was really nervous about Houston tonight too. It seems these threats are going to keep coming so I decided to head in to NYC tomorrow and treat it like just another day. Like may have said, they will hit us when we least expect it.

I'll have to check with the Library and see if they have it. I simply will not give that woman any of my money.

I agree. There has to be an acceptable middle ground between Burka (sp?) clad women who frequently are struck by cars because they can't see through the eye holes- and the trashy, slutty, highly inappropriate displays.

The problem with that idea is it might take out the few higher level bits of decent culture that still remain in various outposts...it wouldn't distinguish.

Agreed, but that's how plagues have always worked. It's not a perfect world.

I will tell ya, tho..that is one of THE best books I've ever read. Every American should read it - and DO SOMETHING to change the hell we are headed into. Even if it is the "small things" day to day, like turning off ER, Will and Grace, the Superbowl halftime "show", etc.

My friends and family get tired of my preaching..but, damn it..if we don't speak up - nothing will ever change, and we will continue to come totally unglued as a country.

I've really admired Tammy Bruce the times she's been on talk shows, and I would never have believed the comments she's made if I hadn't heard them from her own mouth.

She's so on target it's amazing, coming from her side of the political spectrum.

She's probably one of the few honest libs around.

I know this link I am going to give you is a spoof. But a darn good one. Someone posted it on FR a couple of days ago. The thing that gets you is all of the moral and patriotic/survivalist points the guy makes. He pretends to be a time traveler from the year 2036.
