Does anyone find it odd that there are bio/chem/radiological threats to US and European planes directed at the Continental United States and the news media mentions it but does not make a big deal of it - think if these threats were made last year or the year before - it would be 24/7 on the news.

Liz - that's been bothering me, too. I think people (aside from freepers here) just can't get their minds wrapped around the whole concept.

That, or we are so "numb" as a society that we think nothing can happen.

I for one think that something CAN - and WILL - happen re: WMD attack. It is only a matter of time. There is simply too much proliferation, and far too little control (like, wide open borders to start).

I wondered about the cargo, remember when the reports came out about cargo planes. Maybe the intercept thought they were chattering about cargo planes but were really talking about the cargo hold. This may have something to do with the fact that only a few planes are grounded and specifically based on their flight numbers. There may be certain shippers that we have been watching that use these particular flights. Otherwise, I can't imagine why just these flights are threatened. This time AF68 is not on the list from France to LA like during the holidays.
