I agree - they are likely to have backup plans.
For the life of me, I can't figure out why they don't just swarm the bad guys after they get on the planes.
The cancellations seem to have something to do with more than just passengers (cargo?), IMHO.

I would guess that the flight numbers that are being canceled are merely distractions from the true attack.

I would suggest coke for your stomach - don't laugh - it always helps my stomach settle down. Really. I have heard that Emetrol, the anti-nausea OTC liquid, is nothing more than a heavy syrup like that used to make soft drinks, and also that a stand-in for nausea is the heavy syrup that comes with canned fruit (in heavy syrup, not water). So there is something to the soda for the tummy theory!

I think we have all had that experience. Look at FR. For the most part, we are treated with respect, but occasionally someone will have to stop by to demonstrate how foolish we are and how superior that they are. The only people that I talk to about it in the real world are my girlfriend and my dad.
You are right about not being able to count on the popular media, that's why I treasure this thread so much.

This one gave me the impression of someone following this thread. It mentions several items that I had only encountered here.

I thought the clock originally expired at midnight 2-2?When I first heard about the clock, what it was doing and what people said it was doing appeared to be two different things. Apparently some people neglected the "and so many hours" part of it, so they thought it ended a day earlier than it in fact did.

She's under orders to call us.
I haven't mentioned the recent alerts to anyone..

I'm watching it. In flight, eta 2:50 pm edt.
Thanks.

That movie was a very large part of the graphic footage in the original jihad video trailer on the Jihadi Call19 website. The jihad video montage began with the tsunami scene from "Deep Impact". The rest was of the "Independence Day" footage.
Jeff Goldblum's character is the one who discovers the "countdown". He realizes the evil aliens are using our own technology against us. He messes up the alien system by inserting a virus which creates enough confusion to allow the hero's entry into the mothership. They destroy the mothership with a nuke.
The jihadists are kind of mimicing the plotline of that 1996 Hollywood blockbuster movie, albeit with a major role reversal - the jihadists have made themselves the "Americans".
"I thought the clock originally expired at midnight 2-2?"
Yeah, so did I. I recently got an email with the clock attached via a link. I have sent a return email asking for verification that the clock is the same as the original.

Al Qaeda Threat Behind Canceled Flights-US Official WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States has intelligence that the al Qaeda network may be targeting five or six U.S.-bound flights from Europe, including three canceled by British Airways on Saturday, a U.S. official said.
"There are a handful of flights we are concerned about and British Airways has canceled about half of them," the official said on condition of anonymity.
The U.S.-bound flights in question all originated in Europe, he said. U.S. security officials alerted the airlines and governments involved and it was up to them whether to cancel the flights or step up in-flight security, he said.
After he spoke, Air France canceled two Paris-Washington flights.
In the latest cancellations during a jittery period for the global airline industry since before Christmas, British Airways said it had called off flight BA223 to Washington on Sunday and Monday. Sunday's BA 207 flight to Miami was also canceled.
Intelligence information raising fears of a new Sept. 11-style attack led to the cancellation of several international BA flights last month at the request of the U.S. authorities.
"We have received threat reporting that indicates al Qaeda's desire to target these particular flights," the U.S. official said in Washington.
The al Qaeda network led by Osama bin Laden is blamed by Washington for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States that killed more than 3,000 people.

Perhaps, but in this case, they were accurate. My point to jstolzen was simply that the Russians in fact have held significant military maneuvers recently, rather than 10 or more years ago.
I was trying to be as subtle as possible so as not to appear to have been calling jstolzen out, because I wasn't. But maybe by being too subtle my point was lost to those who read it.

In my opinion diversion is highly likely.

Hey, MNC..thanks for the tactful correction.
I guess I shouldn't have taken the claims that the Ruskies haven't held exercises like this in > 20 yrs quite so at face value, but done the digging like you apparently did.
Guess it goes without saying in today's media never to neccessarily believe what your read, eh?
The 2003 exercise that Newsmax reported on last year sounds even more "interesting" than this planned 2004 one.

One other scenario crossed my mind and that is connecting flights to other destinations and meet ups with other terrorist. Two terrorist from europe on a flight to miami board a connecting flight to Houston while two other terrorist already in Miami board the same flight. No need for weapons, just strong hands on a childs neck plucked from a passenger. Would anyone here try to tackle a man with a baby with his hands around the babys neck? Face it folks, we are dealing with psychpaths with no regard for human infidel life.
