I suppose. I am just kicking around ideas and spending too much time following this thread. I will be glad when next week comes and I can get some work done. Until then as the weekend approaches, the imagination wanders. All I can say is they had better do something spectacular or Iran and neighbors may be glass. I think they want to do more than blow up the Superbowl. I think they are being led to bring down the country. Lets hope yhis doesn't work.

Then my new 44 mag should deliver all the explosive power I could dream of then? I decided to get some work done around the house this morning and checking in now at FR I wonder if there's only 24 hours left, why am I not in some tropical paradise in a hammock with warm sunlight rather than in an icy cold gray day here in the snowbelt of America?

Isn't Hajj a time of peace...no violence can occur during Hajj?

Theoretically it's supposed to be. However their pronouncements seem remarkably like the ones from George Orwell's 1984: War is peace. Freedom is Slavery. etc.

And those afraid to e-mail the Tancredo Petition (for privacy reasons) can print it and mail it to the address shown on the bottom.

60 points off the DOW is what, something like a move of one half of one percent? Happens all the time. No big deal, really.

Some really weird activity in the stock market...a hugh drop...but maybe it is nothing.

Since when is a drop of less than 60 points is a "huge drop"?! The last time that would have counted as a huge drop was probably the 70's, or early 80's at the very latest. So the market's off a bit. Big deal. Unless you're a day trader it isn't significant.

"Hugh Drop" is relative. Usually when Fed speaks, it will not drop so abruptly. Instead it would taper down for an hour or so and then slowly come up...not straight down in such a short time...but hopefully it is only the Fed...

Agreed, not that unusual. What is unusual is the abrupt rise in 10-year treasury yields. You don't see a 15-minute pop like that often, if ever.

The market drop is because the Fed, while keeping the rates unchanged took out the statement that they will keep it that way in the foreseeable future, which is what they have been saying the last couple of times. This means, they are injecting some uncertainty, so people can start worrying about whether or not the Fed will raise interest rates, but there is still no reason to do so.

This is just a temporary reaction, things will stabilize again in the market in a day or two, once people realize that "it's much ado over nothing".
