I've often thought the word conspiracy should be substituted by "lunch".

The C word brings to swarthy men in a dark room lit by the light of a solitary bulb, drinking a beverage out of earthen or tin cups, plotting feverishly and scared of capture.

Lunch is prolly where these things are hatched anyway.
Less threatening to those who feel history is all sunshine and light.

Imagine...

"So, Henry, whatever are we going to do about this Communist Chappie, Allende?"

"Hmmmm, this Dover Sole is remarkable."

"Certainly is"

"Have some more wine, the quality here never ceases to amaze me"

"Maybe it's from Chile, haha"

"well, we certainly can't allow those copper mines to be run by a Commie, can we?"

"If you say so"

Voila! A conspiracy or lunch.

Some of the larger supermarket chains have the betadine or a generic in the wound care section.

>>>I have thought for years that Cuba could send us many unwanted gifts

Cuba seems to pop up in too many searchs in Google.

I especially love the Cuba + Malaysia searches.

Malaysia seems to host all kinds of fun meetings.

In respect to the VISAs for Falcons Calpernia brought up, I am sure Falcons like pigeons, are looked at by our government(US) in the same way. As carriers(bird term no insinuation intended). The fact remains that there are many ways to do the "ungood", it is a daunting task for the government(US/Allied) to keep up with it all. That is why citizens have their responsibilities also, to be, and stay aware. This is a new world (not NWO), and it may never be the same. Our children may never know the freedoms we their parents had.

Indonesia refuses to order mass cull to halt bird flu

AP[ WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28, 2004 09:29:51 PM ]

JAKARTA : Indonesia said Wednesday it would not order the mass slaughter of chickens, even as the World Health Organization insisted that poultry culls were the best way to halt the rapid spread of bird flu.

Though its chickens have been infected with the virus sweeping Asia , killing 10 people in as many countries, Indonesia insists it has no human cases of avian influenza.

Hoping to allay fears that eating fowl could cause the illness, officials on the island of Bali held a roast chicken and boiled egg cookout on Wednesday. Dozens of people attended.

Indonesian authorities are still allowing the sale of chicken meat from bird flu-infected farms and have not ordered any mandatory mass culling of chickens. They say they will rely on vaccines to keep the disease from spreading, though it's not clear if that method will work.

Agriculture official Budi Tri Akoso said Indonesia so far has only suggested culling if farmers can afford it.

"It seems the Indonesians are not yet convinced of the effectiveness of culling," Kumara Rai, director of communicable diseases at the World Health Organization's Southeast Asia office, said at an international meeting in Bangkok , Thailand , to discuss the regional bird flu outbreak.

After weeks of denials, Indonesia announced on Sunday that avian influenza was rampant in the country, including Bali , Indonesia 's premier tourist destination.

Bird flu killing most of those who catch it

29.01.2004
By SCOTT MacLEOD and NZPA
The Asian bird flu is killing three out of every four people who catch it, says a New Zealand virus expert at the World Health Organisation.

But despite the grim toll, many New Zealand travellers arriving from Asia seem barely aware of the disease and say they had no health checks when returning to Auckland.

Christchurch virologist Lance Jennings, who is fighting the outbreak with the WHO in the Philippines, said the death rate was very high.

"Nearly everyone who has been identified with the virus has died."

Six out of eight people in Vietnam and two out of three in Thailand had died. But the WHO was not sure of the exact death rate because it was not clear how many people had caught the virus.

Some travellers arriving in Auckland from Thailand last night spoke of a wave of anxiety spreading through the Asian country.

Others were barely aware of the disease, or seemed to have been misinformed about its origins.

Kane Fawcett, 27, was returning from nine months in the region and said he started hearing reports in the past week or two.

"There's a lot of paranoid Thais," he said. "My brother's girlfriend is Thai and she won't go near chicken. She told me the disease came out of the United States."

Avian flu outbreak reported in China; duck flocks struck

Chinese officials acknowledged yesterday that flocks of birds in their country have been infected with avian flu, bringing to 10 the number of Asian countries and territories affected by the spreading disease.
In a joint statement yesterday, the World Health Organization and the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) called the outbreak "a disaster for agricultural production" and called for a concerted effort to combat the disease before it spreads widely among humans.

"We have a brief window of opportunity before us to eliminate that threat," said Jacques Diouf, FAO's director-general

So, am I to assume that we're heading towards the fact that the Asian Bird flu is man-made and intentional?

I don't understand the "falcon" connection.

Is that supposed to mean that it will soon be released here?

It doesn't matter whether it is man made or natural...it's killing 3 out of 4 people who get it so it already has crossed species. The falcon bit ties in as a shedding vector after vaccination and under preplanned conditions.

UPDATE

Seems they are just looking for people with FLU symptoms.

(fair use snip)

Flu victims asked to wear masks in ERs, MDs' offices

AARON DERFEL
Gazette Health Reporter

Montreal public health authorities took the extraordinary step yesterday of urging anyone with flu symptoms who shows up in an emergency room or doctor's office to don a surgical mask.

The measure is aimed not only at containing the spread of influenza as it reaches its peak in Montreal in the next three weeks. The Public Health Department is also being very prudent to prevent even the remote possibility of SARS hitting the city, or the transmission of a new human virus that might originate from Asia's bird-flu epidemic.

ER doctors and nurses are being advised once again to ask anyone with a fever or a nagging cough whether they have recently travelled from southeast Asia, the source of last year's outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome.

Get used to it: the surgical-mask measure is part of the new cultural phenomenon of "respiratory etiquette," officials said yesterday. That includes repeated hand washing with an antiseptic gel like Purell for those with flu-like symptoms.

"More and more, this is going to become the norm," said Dr. Richard Lessard, director of the Public Health Department.

"People who cough and who have fever will be offered a mask and will be asked to clean their hands and, if at all possible, to stay away from the rest of the patients in the waiting room."

These measures have already been adopted by Montreal hospitals and CLSC clinics, and are mandatory. In private doctors' offices, however, they are voluntary - for now, because there is no sign of an epidemic.

"We're becoming more aware that viruses change around the world," Lessard said. "The SARS epidemic of last year that touched Toronto so much increased our awareness that the preparation that we have toward these epidemics is not what it should be."

As far as the person who posted the PROPAGANDA SITE here is a good example of that.

"There's a lot of paranoid Thais," he said. "My brother's girlfriend is Thai and she won't go near chicken. She told me the disease came out of the United States."

Alhaam hu Akhbar! Alhaam hu Akhbar! Alhaam hu Akhbar!
Alhaam hu Akhbar! Alhaam hu Akhbar! Alhaam hu Akhbar!

Assalamu Alaikum for my beloved brother Khodja may Allah bring you
thirty rewards.

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful. Praise be to
Allah, Lord of Creation.
The Compassionate, The Merciful, King of Judgement Day.

As we continue the countdown to the victory Allah will most assuredly
lead us to on the third
day we remain undetected and have all taken our proper places. The
last of the teams will
relocate to their final locations within the next seventy two hour.
The Tahiya is prepared
and she shall dance the dance of victory, the dance of death and
destruction over the infidels
after the final prayer has been issued. Tahiya and her sisters will
be the tool that will bring
all of Islam a just and glorious victory over the Satanic non-
believers.

Islam is for Peace. Islam is for Justice. Peace is the root of the
very name of Islam. There
are many times when oppression necessitates a time for war. The
necessity for war has come
and now is the time we must begin the final jihad and the destruction
of Amerikkka. If we
fail to take action now, then Muslims worldwide will continue to live
under oppression and
the oppressive dictate of the rulers of Amerikkka in Washington D.C.
At this time the
leaders of Amerikkka have failed to meet our demands.

We pray for the guidance of Al-Adil in our war against the infidels
and the great Satan
Amerikkka. We pray that Al-Adil permits our freedom fighters to be
most courageous in
the coming battle against oppression and to that they return safely
so they may continue
the jihad in the battled which will follow. We pray Al-Adil leads us
to complete and final
victory in the stunning blow which is to be delivered. We pray Al-
Adil gives us such
victory so that all Muslims worldwide will be at peace and worthy to
one day enter the
garden of paradise.

It is the duty of those who have the true knowledge to tell all
freedom fighter that the
jihad we begin now is a touchstone to separate the pure from the
impure, to differentiate
between hypocrites and the faithful. Therefore all infidels and non
believers must be slain.
Amerikkka must undergo total destruction.

Now is the time we must be brave, we must support our leaders and
carry out their instructions
precisely as ordered without fear or hesitation. We must be
courageous, we must not lose
heart and we must fight this jihad together. We have struck a deal
directly with Allah
Almighty. We now advance to keep and honour our words. We must all be
prepared to lose each
and every thing for the cause. We must not and cannot be deterred
from achieving our goal.
Although this will be a trying time for Muslims, it is only a test of
the strength of our
faith in Islam and Allah. Allah and his messenger have told us of the
scene to come and
our strength is fully manifested. We remain steadfast in our stance
as the companions of the
prophets did in the defeat of the Roman empire an Tabuk. The same
scene arrives today, By
the grace of Allah, as the caravans of the infidels and non-believers
advance we will overcome
all difficulties by trusting in Allah Almighty.

O, soul at peace, return to thy Lord, well pleased and well pleasing,
enter as My servant, enter
into My heaven. Assalaamu Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
Astowda Okomallah

that DoS comment is not good. That last Nachi virus was (many of us at work believe this becasue we saw how it behaved) one of the reasons for the big blackout. Clogged LANs and servers stopped correct alarm information from coming to operator terminals. this is just my personal opinion.
