Gene therapy is not a sure enough thing. As we have discussed, a liver transplant is your best bet.
The good news is that, thanks to modern immunology, a close histocompatibility match is not as important as it used to be, and a partial liver transplant, which makes more donor tissue available now, may well do the job.
My offers of assistance still stand. Please FReepMail me if I can help. And may the Lord watch over you, your son, and all of your family during this time of travail. My prayers are and have been with you, kimmie.....

God has completely HEALED my darling son! There is ZERO liver damage now in a liver that just months ago was giving every sign of going bad very quickly. The doctors are shaking and scratching their heads, and we are praising the Great Physician!
The biopsy samples are being sent away to check for ANY Alpha 1 AT ALL. It would seem that God has removed all evidence of this horrible disease from Jacob's body.
Thank you, dear friend, for all you've done! I'll keep everyone aprised of any new developments. Until then, PRAISE THE LORD!
