This is another similar story we had a while back on FR.
I feel like I'm logged onto Bizarro FR or something.

Great article, thanks. Nice to see the American dream is still alive.
One of my good friends in college was Hmong; his dad worked for the CIA during Vietnam. Several of us carpooled during the holidays since we all lived in the same general area of the country. I remember he wanted to stop and see some relatives in Chicago. They lived in a nasty run-down housing project, but when we showed up, they put out a feast that was fit for a king. The lady of the house even took us shopping at the local asian market and had us pick out some tea to take with us. They had nothing, but they gave everything they had to their guests. Very impressive people.

At least now you open borders types can move past the stale "who will pick our lettuce" cliche and start using the "who will raise our chickens" phrase.

At least now you open borders types can move pastFirst, we won't see an unending river of Hmong crossing the borders at night into America. Second, I challenge you to document one Hmong person in this country who arrived without a legitimate visa. Third, did you note that the Lees are naturalized citizens, and that their four daughters are native citizens?

There are tremendous differences between owning a chicken farm, and being employed as a migrant field laborer.

But they're still taking jobs from honest, hard-working Anglo-Americans.

Lighten your load buddy, I have no problem with these folks. Still the Hmong as a whole are probably the least qualified group we could have allowed to immigrate. This "diversity" propagandist who wrote this article should have delved a little deeper into the Hmong community and found their social pathologies which are numerous. Of course to liberals this is the bread and butter of their existance they get a rush out of their do goodness, but in reality liberalism is the infliction of pain onto others such as the communities where the Hmong were dumped, like Wassau WI. Don't believe me, that great liberal rag the Chicago Tribune features this kind of pap at least 3 times a week and the Hmong of Wisconsin and their woes usually are recylced thru the propaganda mill with regularity.

If his name was Rameriz, we'd be reading yet another tirade about what we owe him for coming here illegally.
There aren't too many Rameriz' who come here to open farms.

(So, can we assume that a job that an illegal alien won't do must be REALLY bad?....)

Well one is Child Brides married off to "elders " in their 30's or 40's. Gangs which preform violent break ins and robberies ( generally of other Hmong or Asian groups ).Those are starters.

Well, kindly direct me to some stories on the web that I can read about, because to me, it seems like this kind of vague and ambiguous charge is nothing but the typical hollow conjecture of xenophobes.

Approximately 1/3 of all visible minorities in the Twin Cities are Hmong, and they're among the most hardworking and determined people you'll ever meet. Like the Romany in Europe, they've been persecuted no matter where they've gone, but yet they've preservered. I say bring them all here
In full disclosure, I must also confess that I find Hmong women to be soooooo gorgeous :-)
To: RightWingAtheist
Yup, same here in Wisconsin. Very hard working, and attractive too!
