Most of my friends to continue to support the President because he has lowered the unemployment rate even in the face of an unprecendented attack on our nation, spectacular bursting of bubbles in the stock market, and historic reforms in corporate governance including arrests and convictions of corporate bosses.

He has humanely proposed dealing with illegal immigration, realizing that the nation needs continues labor and social security funding while future privatization will hopefully be implemented.

He has successfully defended this nation even with the most open borders in the world and in the face of 8 years of inaction and chaos at the federal level.

He has maintained his conservative positions on most moral issues of the day and has made progress on reforming health care, eventually privatizing major portions of it.

He has continued to push privatiiton of social security, which Chile has already successfully done...in short he has been a spectacular president in the face of a peculiar kind of criticism from the right and a more perverse attacks from the the Left.

You write with high regard for our President. You see success, I see creeping socialism, and I will never agree with that. Bush's successes in governing have been overshadowed by his liberal policies. I would like to see a real conservative in office, but I'm not sure that one exists. This saddens me.
