[history]
President George W. Bush blew it Tuesday night. He delivered a State of the Union address that downplayed his most promising - and potentially revolutionary - domestic-policy initiatives. Earlier drafts had reportedly contained a lengthy exposition of his vision of an "ownership society," expanded and strengthened by tax changes and Social Security reform.

""You are surprisingly ill informed and wrong with almost every one of your posts. All you have to do is turn off Fox news for a day or two and read a little history. Start with "All the Shah's Men: An American Coup and the Roots of Middle East Terror". After you come to grips with what really caused the the resurgence of fundamentalism and its consequences, then come back and talk about 9/11. If you want to bury your head in government propaganda and blaming others and scapegoating to avoid the truth, then so be it. Just can the empty easy answers cause you look foolish.""
Well first of all I dont have cable so it is presumtious of you to think I watch Fox.
Secondly, youve just proved my point about your Anti-Americanism, not even a hint of denial: Islam doesnt hate us, we've provoke them by supporting Israel and interfereing in the middle east. And now I am scapegoating Al Qaeda according to Richard by blaming them for 9/11
Youre trurly a dispicable person Richard W.
I was more right about you than I thought

Your "recommended reading" is predated by another book.
It started with that whole Ishmael and Isaac thing and it's ebbed and flowed ever since and will continue to do so until literally, the end of time.....:)

Further, an economist also spoke about and supported the immigration proposal. Newt Gingrich also supports the immigration proposal. And former Gov California Gray Davis would love it, too. Bush's proposal is being greeted with the same hostility that Gray Davis' license bill received. You folks who don't live near the border better pay attention.

Also Janet was a big Buchanan supporter on FR in 2000. C'mon Dane, I liked Buchanan because of his common sense concerning America's borders. I voted for Bush in 2000 because I couldn't stand Gore. Buchanan was right, by the way...

Most of my friends, lifelong conservatives, are ready to sit this one out because of Bush's failure to protect American jobs and borders, and his crazy fiscal policies.Yeah, that will really show them. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!!

I think the one thing Republicans on both sides can agree on is that it was dumb to talk about it in the SOTU address. It's a complex plan and he'd have to spend the full hour just on that topic to explain it to voters. Just mentioning it as briefly as he did, he did more damage than good.

Buchanan was right about the border situation. The rest of it I am not so sure. Something about him always worried me. I just can't put my finger on it.

The object of my exercxise is to hit them in the nose with a rolled up newspaper hoping that they will see that they need to move to the right and stay there. Not to sabotage them. I like the Constitution Party, and intend to vote for them but I know they will not win. I want to force GWB to right.

So the Liberals are NOT chairing the committees and setting the agenda? So election "reforms", prescription drugs to seniors, amnesty for illegals, tons of spending measures, etc. these were established by Republicans?
Could you try to make my point any clearer? Another 10 years of unopposed Republican control over all branches of government might be the end of all of like savings, but I'll at least be happy I wasn't fleeced by the other guys, who would have done it quicker and more insultingly.

Its because he is a 1930s throw back with fascist sympathies. Pat never met a non-communist dictator he didnt praise. I remember in 1994, Pat was on "This Week" With Brinkley and he said it was wrong for France and England to decalre war on Germany in 1939, because Germany was never a threat to Western Europe. I absolutely loathe him

Some of us have gotten to the point where we see less and less of a difference between the two parties, in my case I see very little difference on the domestic side.
And like these people I just can't bring myself to vote for the lessor of two evil yet again.

Youre trurly a dispicable person Richard W.I guess that not falling for the simplist "they hate us" answers offered by the administration and defending the constitution and demanding fiscal accountability and responsibility makes me dispicable. How ridiculous the republicans have become.

It's a counterpoint to your straw man;
"AQ is pretty much administration fear mongering"
Was 9-11 just a holographic projection?
You will not see the actual threat so you create a nice tin-foil wrapped one.
Rather than resort to ad hominem attacks, address the liberal-sanctioned policy of protecting *other* illegal/malicious "aliens".
Is it because they tend to suport Dem candidates?

"People had better wake up to where the real threat to freedom is coming from."
Like the medieval "castle sappers", certain groups seek to undermine the very foundations of the country, unseen, thereby weakening and ultimately destroying it from within.

I just happen to think that you are off in Twinkyville. Undoubtedly, trying to relate profiling to not enforcing border security will qualify you as one of the first moon settlers.
