My sorrow is knowing that my son smokes but refuses to give it up because he says "he likes it." He's addicted.

Why is it, when people enjoy something, they are automatically labeled an "addict?" I can't understand it. I truly enjoy smoking. If I didn't, I would quit.

FYI my son acknowledges that he's addicted since high school. However, since he's addicted and likes to smoke anyway even though he has money problems and can't afford the price of cigarettes, he refuses to quit knowing full well he experiences problems in breathing.
