just as a point of interest you can find out about members of the Republican Liberty Caucus who are elected to office here:

Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas – known as "Mr. Constitution" on Capitol Hill for his strict adherence to the document when voting on legislation – won't face any challengers for his House seat this year since he was the only person to file for the race.

Hmmmm! Perhaps there is a message to some (RINO) republicans in this somewhere!

You are under no obligation to, but would you care to answer the second part of my question?

The sad thing is that most of them that ran are in safe districts. There maybe a few that could be competitive. I remember some being talked about when the event was ongoing but there weren't many that freepers felt would change hands. Remember the redistricting in the state legislature took place earlier and we've already had an election under it..... That is how the Republicans took control of both state houses.

Interesting mix this time with the new redistricting in place.

13 Districts where the Republican drew no Republican challenger

20 Districts where the Democrat drew no Democrat challenger

2 Republicans Paul and Thornberry drew no challengers from either party.

3 Democrats drew no challengers from either party.... [Jackson-Lee, Johnson, Green]

I guess there could be an Indpendent file as their deadline is in May, I think.... but they won't be a factor in the outcome.

"The federal government has no authority to promote or discourage any particular social arrangements; instead the Founders recognized that people should live their lives largely free of federal interference.  This is not to say that the Founders intended or imagined a libertine America.

On the contrary, they envisioned an America with vibrant religious, family, social, and civic institutions that would shape a moral nation.  They understood that strong private institutions, so important in a free and just society, could not coexist with a strong, centralized government."
-Ron Paul-

Straight-laced conservatives do not vote to give their state & federal governments the authority to promote or discourage any particular social arrangements.
Socialist dupes do exactly that every day.

That would work in the perfect world where pressure groups like the gays and abortionists don't exist who want to change the way America and the world think and force legislative nonsense into the states.

Moral majority pressure groups work to the same effect. All you zealots are wrong in your efforts to change our constitution.

And that's exactly why truly straight-laced conservatives must stand by their views and act on them. If the conservatives don't step in and try to regulate these things in the states, the liberals will (and already are).

You, and they, are welcome to try to 'regulate' as you like, within constitutional bounds..

Sorry, but I just don't like Ron Paul - I've read his little assaults on President Bush and others and then I've looked at his own record and have never been impressed. In my opinion, Ron Paul is just another hypocrite who we'd be better off without.

No doubt the feelings are mutual..

Thank God Ron Paul does not have any challengers. This means that I wont have to send any money to Texas to help defeat any RINO or dumbocrat that would challenge him.
