I have a picture of GW among my family photos and the boiler repairman, a twenty something guy, stood in my kitchen waiting for a check and suddenly laughed and said "George Bush?" when he saw it. I said that I realized that it must seem strange to find out a city dweller (I live in Brooklyn) was a Republican. He said that he was an independent but that he had voted for Bush and would vote for him again. Thought he was doing an excellent job in the War on Terrorism.

I believe it's an unwritten law?

Check it out, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is one of Bush's guests, but not Panthers QB Jake Delhomme. Guess Bush feels that NC is safely Republican? Nope. Bush is honoring the Patriots organization, and Brady in particular, for the community outreach for low income youth that they have done. Bet he specifically mentions that he's not picking sides and wishes that the Cowboys, Texans or Redskins were there to root for in two weeks.

No, but sometimes people arrive as far ahead as 4 hours to BE on the aisle so they can be seen shaking hands with the President.

The President looks quite cheerful! YAY!

There's Bill Frist and Little Tommy behind the Prez. Speech is said to be about 42 minutes long, not counting interruptions for applause. (Quick run to fridge for beer.) Bush looks like he's feeling feisty.

"Is there some requirement that African-American representatives must sit on the aisle at SOTU addresses?"
Shhhh. They'll call you a racist if you bring it up.
To: Right_in_Virginia
I don't know! I was reading everybody's comments. That would be funny though.
To: MNLDS
I'm so glad you're here! Let's enjoy! A lot of the RATS stopped clapping awhile ago. Scum.

Brit says the speech is 42 minutes long...I thought I read/heard that the previous draft clocked out at 59 minutes. Fascinating.
