Discretionary spending in budget should be held to 4% increase....any fooling around w/it and he would VETO it.

More anthropological data is proving even those "native Americans" weren't created here and came from other places, most likely from the South Pacific Islands and before that southern Asia.
Even the old Bearing Strait crossing theory brings them from Mongolia.
And the Vikings came down here to visit long before Europeans.
My family came over from London around 1785.

(I hope the State of the Union address calls for less spending and more control over our money!)

Michael Barone should be a permanent member of Fox News. I don't recognize the name. What TV or radio show is he on and what time, so I can check him out.
To: Miss Marple
I have set my priorities. National defense is always first. All else is secondary, and can be argued and refitted in times of peace. How right you are!

I do so agree with both of your statements. And .. I cannot even fathom where the USA would be today if President Bush were not the President.

Every word of the President's speech was inspiring and reassuring.
He is the right man for this time in our history and I thank the Lord for that every single day.

Heard that too...
He's done. Opportunity lost (for a landslide the likes of which had never been seen, that is).

That's not true. Bush's proposal is a blanket amnesty for the 8-12 million ILLEGALS who are here. Bush has ALWAYS opposed blanket amnesty, EVEN before 9-11. Go educate yourself on this issue then get back to us.

Actually, you are spot on. Bob Schieffer on CBS mentioned that there was no really big ticket items mentioned, but that it was still a good speech.

What amazes me is that Ted was shaking his head on the "No Child Left Behind" part...the bill he COMPLETELY wrote and got 99.9% of what he wanted. He's counting on the sheeple not remembering that part!
Remember, he thinks "the people" don't have enough sense to pour pi- water out of a boot if the instructions were written on the bottom of the boot.

America is a Nation with a mission - and that mission comes from our most basic beliefs. We have no desire to dominate, no ambitions of empire. Our aim is a democratic peace - a peace founded upon the dignity and rights of every man and woman. America acts in this cause with friends and allies at our side, yet we understand our special calling: This great Republic will lead the cause of freedom.

Let's not turn this thread into another sickening "Immigration" thread or a Bush-bashing festival. Go start your own thread if you can't stick to the theme of this one which is the President's speech.(In case you forgot)

That must be one hell of a conveyor belt that they have to send the containers through. Probably a 400kV tube too. I sure wouldn't want to stand near one when it's in operation.

you know him if you see him, he is on Fox from time to time, talking about the dynamic of politics and the election. I believe he still works for reader digest, perhaps drudge has a link to him on his page.

Interesting report card. But don't you think it was worth more than a B plus?
To: Ramius
Even if less qualified? But I have a fiduciary duty to the company to hire the best talent that will do the best job. Be careful. The 'regulate against overseas jobs' protectionist crowd will be after you for supporting free trade practices.
Adam Smith would approve though.
