I had a Kennedy bobblehead but my cats dragged it into the litter box and covered it up. Priceless! I'm not sure my cats would consent to sharing their toilet with a Kennedy bobblehead, though. They might starting doing their duty on the carpet.

The president mentioned retraining, you want to retrain professionals with many years of experience, with masters and Phds because they can't compete with people that make 1/10th of their salary? Guess what - a PhD or MA isn't a job guarantee or a sure thing for a high salary. People at all levels lose jobs or switch jobs. Retraining can be a matter of going back to get a second degree, or a new certification. I've had patients do that - go from losing a management position, pick up new education to have a new job focus and get an equivalent or better management position in another field.
President mentioned biotech. You do know that these jobs can be done more cheaply overseas right?
Some can - for others there is a lack of facilities like the US boasts. That's the point, the US has to do it either better to make a higher price worth it, or cheaper.
Have you visited a university lately, I have, my Masters degree I could count the US citizens with one hand (actually half a hand).
Be careful with your cheap shots, and your grammer (do you mean only 2 other people have your master's degree?) Part of my work and research is at a university. I've gone through BS.,BA., MS., EMTB and EMTI certification, DO, and working on the PhD. I guess I've visited a university lately...
What's you point? Degrees aren't guarantees - they're tools to get a better job.
Why don't we just export the executives and CEOs of these companies, I'm sure their jobs can be done more cheaply overseas. Heck, might as well make move the HQs of these companies, HP could very well do their job in India rather than the US. That's where we are heading anyways.
Yep, many companies are moving everything overseas - for areas with LESS regulation, LESS unions, LESS taxes, LESS labor costs, LESS governmental labor costs. More regulations won't help.

To: Carolinamom
Hi, Carolinamom.
She's a piece of - well, you know. I'd best not say it.
We were NOT in a good mood in my household this evening.
The president was able to lift our spirits and give us hope for people and the country. He is an uplifting person who sees the good, not the bad. God bless him.

Besides don't they know the two man format is lame.
Just ask Connie Chung (the original hottie). They should have kept her and dropped Rather.

Doug, if anyone wondered about the import of this election, and how the Democrats see their current positioning and prospects ... throwing Pelosi AND Daschele up to the mike for the "loyal oppostion" rebuttal speaks volumes. That's unusual in as many years as I recall. Usually, it's a token statement by a talented young secondary prospect.
This is serious, historic political business come November.
