***The Courage Of George W. Bush***
Stardate: 0401.17

Posted on 01/17/2004 8:02:01 PM PST by The Wizard

As I listen to the jabberings of the misc. democrats who are attacking the President, those who were in the services, et al, I always remember one sight I will never forget the rest of my life......

A few days after 9-11 when no one knew what was happening and who was behind it, and no one was really sure if it was over, I watched George Bush, all alone, walk out to the mound at Yankee Stadium, in front of 55 thousand people and as clean a target as ever existed, show the world that America, (at least this American) wasn't going to be intimidated.....and there, all alone, no SS, no NYPD, nothing, he threw out that first ball.......

You could hear America stop breathing until he was off the field.......

That took more guts than anything any of these pathetic weasels ever did in their lives.......

I will never forget that.....ever......

If he's so brave, how come he's so afraid of the Saudis.

Ordinarily a question ends with a ? --- I guess his is a statement, a stupid one at that.

Well, I thought it was a pretty funny idea that someone actually thinks that President Bush is AFRAID of the Saudis!

If it weren't so pathetic, it would be funny that these keyboard generals around here sit 'bravely' in their dark little rooms and accuse the man who is boldly protecting THEIR lives of cowardice.

They haven't got a clue!

If the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA isn't afraid of the Saudis, then why don't we take our revenge for the Attacks on America, September 2001 conducted by Saudis, and FINANCED AND ORGANISED out of the Tragic Kingdom?

Prove to me that the BUsh family will stand up to the Saudis.

Why won't they? Are they afraid of falling off the Gravy Train?

If I might explain it to you this way, GWB knows that we are dependant upon the Suadis, we need them, we can't live without them, and they hate our guts. The only thing that saves us is that they are addicted to our money and can't live without it. It is a very dangerous and unhealthy situation for us to be in.

I hope and pray that GWB will find the political determination to further the energy independance plans that VP Cheney started to work on at the beginning of his term. We need to be energy independant, until then we need to tread softly and work to change the situation.

Before we can say bye bye Saudi, we must become energy independent!According to a source I read years ago the Ballard Fuel cell autos should be in production by the middle of "W's 2nd term. With opening the oil fields there will be no need for the Saudi oil. Then.....they can do without our money.....and take their oil and.....

First, political capital only goes so far, he can't do everything at once. His plate has been pretty full doing what he has done. He also has had to curry the favor of the Saudis until the time is right to start cutting the ties, doing so in the middle of the Mid-East war is not a good move. I know that the Suadis are against our drilling in ANWAR and have made their objections very vocal. Can you figure out why?

Like playing a good game of chess, certain moves have to precede others. So far President Bush has been playing a good game, I just hope that the energy-independance move comes into the game soon.

This has all been explained to you many, many times.......and you haven't understood it yet, so there's very little point to this.......

But, in a nutshell.......some of the terrorists were from Saudi Arabia, but it was alQuaeda that attacked us, not the country itself. Besides which, the U.S. Government does not take 'revenge.' We are civilized, even if some of our citizens (i.e. YOU), are not. The relationship the United States has had with Saudi Arabia is much more complex than anyone who can't think beyond 'revenge' is capable of understanding.

In addition, your disdain for the Bush family has clouded whatever reasoning power you might have once had.

Now, as stated before, this is a thread to celebrate the COURAGE of our President, and you are attempting to hijack it.

Don't.

Believe what you want.

The propaganda works.

Ignore reality.

The truth is the gravy train. Never let it be spilt.

>>>>>>>>>>>President Bush has been playing a good game,

Agreed. I'm not indulging him in the "soft bigotry of low expectations", hence the irritation at the reticence to wipe out wahhabism.

There is no reason for this to be a "multigenerational" war.

I find it MOST ironic that the least rational, most hate-filled people on FR think they know what 'reality' is.

Reality is God's LOVE, swarthy.

Reality is HONOR, DIGNITY and COURAGE, swarthy.

Reality is FORGIVENESS from sin, and NEW LIFE in Jesus Christ.

Reality is NOT hating the Saudis and hating the Bush family.

Reality is NOT your warped perception of the world, swarthy.

The people on this thread, who admire the very REAL courage of President Bush have a far better command of what is real and true than you do.

Believe it............or not.

Hi Ohio, just wanted to check to see if you bought the new Laura Bush book, I think it is called The Perfect Wife. I was hoping to get some feedback before I purchased it. I wanted to make sure it is not a liberal book full of nasty lies about our President and First Lady.

We know they use body cavities, and shoes.

So the Presdient WAS brave to go out there.

And yes, I know about pre-Presidential security searches, too.

I don't even read anything with his name....

Today is the first time I've come across him (or her?). I can see I haven't missed anything. :-)

I just heard the other night that there is a book out that has all of Pres. Bush's speeches. I can't wait to get out and see if I can find it. I love listening to him, especially when he is speaking without notes, or stops reading his notes.

Thought you'd want to know, too.

Speaking of books, I recently bought "The DaVinci Code." It's a huge best-seller and I had read an earlier book by the author that was pretty good. Ron Howard is turning the novel into a movie due out in '05. Man, oh man, what a virulent screed against Christianity and Roman Catholicism. I wish I had an opportunity to be forewarned.

The basic story is the usual nonsense about the Knights Templar and the Holy Grail. As a mystery novel, it's OK, but I don't see what the fuss is about. But there are whole chapters in which vicious anti-Christian lectures are put into the mouths of the characters. Jesus wasn't divine. He was married to Mary Magdalene. She's the "holy grail" because she had a daughter by Jesus. St. Peter was jealous of Mary Magdalene, so he and the early church lied about her being a prostitute. On and on it goes.

Although I was raised a Roman Catholic (my father's faith), my mother was a Christian but not a Catholic. As an adult, although I most definitely believe in God and the basic tenets of Christianity, I really don't adhere to any organized religion. I also don't take insult easily. So for someone like me to be offended by this book, you have to know it is really vicious.

So I can well understand your desire to get some feedback, judgie55, before spending your hard-earned money on a book that sucks you in and then betrays your trust as you get into the middle of it.
