As I listen to the jabberings of the misc. democrats who are attacking the President, those who were in the services, et al, I always remember one sight I will never forget the rest of my life......

A few days after 9-11 when no one knew what was happening and who was behind it, and no one was really sure if it was over, I watched George Bush, all alone, walk out to the mound at Yankee Stadium, in front of 55 thousand people and as clean a target as ever existed, show the world that America, (at least this American) wasn't going to be intimidated.....and there, all alone, no SS, no NYPD, nothing, he threw out that first ball.......

You could hear America stop breathing until he was off the field.......

That took more guts than anything any of these pathetic weasels ever did in their lives.......

I will never forget that.....ever......

As I recall, he didn't throw a very good pitch in Milwaukee because of his bulletproof vest, so before he threw the one in Yankee Stadium, he practiced throwing with it on, and nailed the pitch.

How anyone could hate this man, it is just beyond my comprehension. He is the sweetest, most sincere, most kind, and so compassionate. I am so glad I got on this thread tonight and received some cheer. I have listened to C-span and hate so long that I really get down in spirit sometimes. Glad that you liked them. In all honesty, I went to Google images and searched for them. These looked like what I was looking for.

OWF, the image that you saved is no different than the one that you posted, I simply sent additional HTML instructions for your web browser to display the image larger than the default size of 512 pixels wide by 336 pixels high. I increased each dimemsion by 50% and inserted the following code:

The burdens he's carried since 9/11 have been etched on his face in just these three short years. But to me, the character inside him shines ever more brightly today than it did then.

Thansk for posting the photo. I think that's a cropped version of the photo that
USA Today ran at about the one-year anniversary, critiquing the media
(including themselves) for having self-censored such images.

I just happened to buy that issue of USA Today while waiting for a doctor's appt.;
I immediately called a relative and left an urgent answering machine message
for him to get a copy. He was pretty stunned by it.

For liberal-leaning friends, when they start trashing Dubya/Ashcroft/Enduring+Iraqi Freedom,
I tell them that "it's all about eleven seconds". When they ask me what on earth I'm
talking about I just say...that's just about the time it takes a human body to reach
the streets of New York City from the top of the World Trade Center.

Thank you, Wizard, for one of the warm memories of our President. There has been so much hate and vitriol here lately and this thread was much needed. Many here have forgotten all of the things that President Bush has done - his courage, love of country and leadership smashes both the Democrats and the "conservatives" that come here only to slash and burn. We must stick together and make sure that those that have forgotten do not win this important battle.

The Patsters, Keysters, Tancreedos, and members of the so-called base, (you know, the self-described "true conservatives", who delight in calling the rest of us RINOS, are such a small percentage of the GOP that their Third party vote or stay-at-home protest votes will be negligible at best in election '04.
