Does anyone know - will Jusge Pickering draw a salary? Can't get the source now, but I believe recess appointees do not get paid.

Of course he'll get paid. I don't know where you heard that.

It is a valid constitutional appointment to a job that has a pay scale.

Sheperd Smith on FOX just said "as of today he (Pickering) gets a promotion and a pay raise." Pickering has accepted the appointmnet.

I think recess appointees do get paid. The Constitution does not mention not paying such appointees. I cannot imagine Clintoids taking such temporary appointments without salary. So why would Judge Pickering give up his judgeship for a one-year stint that has no salary?

I believe that since Pickering's nomination is "pending" in the Senate, he can draw a salary.

According to the article in post 82, I believe he will receive his salary as a "regular" appointee who has also been designated a recess appointee. But check out the article, which is a rather long PDF.
