Jack Russell Terriers are not dogs. They are tiny, furry, hyperintelligent, wonderfully loving, psychotic people:
I can't speak for all JRT's, but Janey stopped chewing furniture after she was about 1 year old. (Bitter apple spray helped.) She housebroke easily, and almost never has accidents. The bit about the Napoleonic complex is true, but it applies mostly to other dogs - I socialized Janey from a young age, and today at 9 & 3/4 years old she's everybody's buddy. I take to work with me every day, and everyone loves her.
JRT's aren't for everybody - they love mischief, and require constant attention. But the rewards far exceed the investment.

Then there's my snuggler Gizmo.
BTW, I am very much a dog person. Check the tag line.

JRTs are from another planet. However the same training rules apply and will work.

I love the pictures of your JRT. Don't you love that breed? They are the best. We have have had 7 of them in the last 14 years. We have 2 new puppies now.

I know a couple who have two JRT's. Life must be hilarious in that house.
