Those activites are not involving the Thrill of the Hunt as in hunting for sport....
I said I agree that the killing of animals for food and for protection and preserving the enviroment is fine if it is done humanely
Just for Plain Ol' fun A Big Fat No (My opinion)
And as far as Cats they are Independent, loving, smart, cute and very enjoyable to have in your life...

Shooting birds when there flying in the air also should be banned no need for it...So, by your way of "thinking", FreeRepublic should be banned. After all, everyone could get along without it.

"Officers located the coyote, which continued to be aggressive, and shot it. The coyote's carcass was taken to the Orange County Animal Shelter for rabies testing. It's hard to believe urban cops located and cornered a coyote at all, unless the animal was insane. What was the result of the rabies test?

Excuse me? You need to go change your profile page. The position you just put up is certainly not "conservative..."

I hunt because I enjoy it... I get to do something that is satisfying to me as a person. I work hard at being the best hunter that I can. I recently started practicing with a bow so I can bow hunt some day. I did this to increase the challenge. I also like venison, which I can't get it in stores and if it was sold in stores it would have the same issues that "store-bought" and "farm-raised" meats do now. I do not "trophy hunt" and I don't approve of "canned hunts".
You need to get a clue or remove your little self to DU.
BTW, in case you should decide to wip out the "defenseless animal" issue, and say that I would have a different attitude if my prey hunted me back... I've been there. At the time my "prey" was two-legged and armed at least as well as I was. I came home.

What was the result of the rabies test? The article didn't say, but I would imagine that something was wrong with the critter.

Well, after the initial shock, I figured it was better to remain still. Bugger didn't know I was there until it happened to glance down the two track in my direction. Not much I'm gonna do with a 16 gage, and that close, there wasn't any way to get out of harm's way.
I did know, however, that that third rustle had to be a cub. Ain't no way I'm getting between that and momma.
Another good story: there was a restaurant up North that had these large plate glass windows looking out into the woods. The staff thought it would be neat to dump scraps out back and have the customers watch the oh-so-cute bears eat. One night, there was a whole crowd of people at the buffet table watching the bears, who were only separated by that plate glass. Took an edict from the authorities to shut that operation down.
In a way, its too bad. Bear on the menu, especially well fed bear, would have been pretty tasty.

Officials of the Missouri Department of Conservation have stated that the population of mountain lions will increase with the larger deer herd. When we let the deer herds grow, surprise! the predator's numbers increase.

Shooting birds when there flying in the air also should be bannedGotta go with you on that. Guns at distance are too impersonal for geese. Using a baseball bat on the flying rats is so much more... satisfying.

In that case, those big tawny cats with the big manes at the zoo should be tons of fun. I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you went and gave them a pat or two.

I suppose feeding them Alka-Seltzer is out of the question?
