Apparently this is a clip of a longer video of an Apache gunship engaging Iraqis.
Warning: This video is graphic!!!

You try not to use IR in daytime unless it's too cloudy to use a regular (light) camera. Smoke or smoke clouds are present.
Background heat reduces (doesn't emilinate) IR image quality, so the regular TV viewer is better in daytime.

Even as concerned observers, we all have to be reminded that war isn't a video game. Thanks for putting this in it's proper perspective.

Any more cool links like the chopper video?

I was born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia.....but the finest time of my family's "child raising years", was spent in Huntsville, AL..
My employer sent me there on a temporary assignment to work on the Apollo and Saturn Instrument Units (IU).
We loved the area so much, we pushed our 1yr assignment into 9 years.
My wife and children cried all the way to our next assignment - in California.

Hey -- I'm proud of our guys knocking out whomever they can. In this case, or any OTHER case...
I was merely just empathizing to what bolobaby has experienced and conveyed -- that even though our guys are doing a job well and deserve all the credit in the world, when that job is killing, it psychologically affects some people subconsciencely more than others.

"My wife and children cried all the way to our next assignment - in California. " Yup. I spent a few years out in your area too, 1967-73. I helped do the National Semiconductor start-up there in Santa Clara. Some very exciting and challenging days.

Got it. UnRaR'd it and watched it. =) Is the only thing the higher resolution? The only longer portion I see is on the AC130 from about 10 miles out coming into the target area.
It's in my "safe zone" for now. heheh

I dunno boss. I think this was a 3 point conversion.
(a little humor isn't bad - it's how we stayed sane in war)

Heck, I would cry if I had to move from Hell, Texas to California.

Awesome, but also quite disturbing. I hope these soldiers dont get messed up in the head with all this carnage they are a part of. War is hell...
They'll be OK!

I see the IR glow of warm human goo....
Like slaughtered cows after their last moo...moo...
If I had one wish that America could achieve...
It's to see illegal immigrants run from our borders being chased by Apache's...
