13:19 KRAVICA , Jan 7 (Tanjug) - A memorial service was held in the Orthodox church in Kravica, near Bratunac, on Wednesday on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of a great massacre of local Serbs Bosniacs had killed in this local district and its neighbouring villages during the war.
At the dawn of January 7, 1993, Bosniac forces from Srebrenica, under the command of Naser Oric, now prisoner of The Hague tribunal, invaded the village of Kravica and killed and massacred 46 local Serb civilias, mostly women, children and old people, at their thresholds.
Let's not confuse those killed defending the village with those too old or otherwise incapable of escaping.
Hey, Joan - since Nasir Oric has been indicted for this by the ICTY, amongst other things, does that mean he's automatically innocent?
Or does that only apply to Serbs?
Hardly. The prosecution has linked him to the various paramilitaries active in Croatia, Bosnia, and Kosovo, thus confirming his responsibility in the crimes they perpetrated.
Meanwhile, Slobo tries to score points with his supporters back home and on various web forums by playing to the perpetual Serbian victim mentality, rather than defending himself - it's good PR for a receptive audience, but will fail him miserably come judgement time.
two years of prosecution being up at bat; and all that has happened is new information supporting Presdient Milosevic has been made public.
Among other tidbits, we heard that the Prosecution doctored their witness depositions, the KLA gangpressed civilians at Racak, and many Albanian loyalists were murdered by the KLA
The Prosecution has a budget of some $100 million annually. Milosevic has a pay phone.
Despite the limitless resources of the Prosecution, all it has done is bloster Milosevic's contention.
Even the Bush White House has called for the ICTY to be shut down as soon as possible.
Instead of standing with President Bush, bleeding heart liberals such as Hoplite, continue their multi-lateralist agenda.
Of course Hoplite supports the ICTY, for the ur-liberal Judge May heads it. This is the same Judge May who repeatedly ran against Maggie Thatcher.
Clinton, May, and Hoplite birds of a feather..........
You are outdoing yourself again Hoplite...still have a hangover from New Year's?
If I am reading the source correctly, "46 local Serb civilias, mostly women, children and old people, at their thresholds" were killed by armed Muslims.
So, in your opinion, how many of these civlians, mostly women and children and old people were "defending" themselves? And since when is defending your families a crime?
Oric's forces started the assault come morning, and the Serbs took around 30 casualties in the trenches holding out until noon, when it became apparent that they could not repulse the attack.
After that, the balance of their forces and those civilians who were able to, left Kravica.
What happened to those left behind served no useful purpose and is a crime by any definition of the word - can you say the same for the crimes that resulted in Srebrenica being filled with 40,000 hungry refugees?
Of course not - which is why you're here throwing up pathetic straw men arguments and making childish remarks which reflect upon your religious mindset more than mine.
I remain an atheist, Kosta. No Santa Claus, no Easter Bunny, no God.
Make a note of it.
The exoneration of Milosevic's "Butcher of the Balkans" title is the utterly complete omission lack of coverage of his trial from our media. There is no way in hell that if he was HALF as guilty of all he's been accused of or his picture and the pictures of his victims would be on our televison screens or in our newspapers at least once a week. It just ain't happenin'. If it bleeds it leads and we're not even getting scraps tossed at us.
End of story.
As for any similar incidents involving the other side, clearly you know my position on that -- crime is a crime is a crime. Separating what happened from propaganda claims is a different story.
The only thing pathetic or childich about a religious mindset is someone who knows nothing about Christianity and thinks that Easter Bunny and Santa Claus are religious entities. Why am I not surprized?
And yes, Kosta, I am familiar with your position - crimes against serbs = crimes, crimes by serbs = propaganda.
I note also that your statement attributing a Muslim abstention from alcohol has been forgotten almost as soon as it was made - making room for yet more nonsense. Is that your strategy now? Throw enough crap on the wall hoping that some of it will stick?
I suppose given your position on matters, such an approach would probably offer the best chances of success.
Whatever.
You are making things up, Hoplite. Desparation? My position was, is and always will be that crime = crime = crime no matter who does it.
Well, you claim to be a pagan, atheist, whatever, and you can't tell the difference betwen Santa Claus, Easter Bunny and God. Why pursue the matter of alcohol abstention? I don't believe a word you say about yourself, I hope you realize that (Muslims are allowed to lie to the infidels, after all, aren't they? Why don't you tell me if you don't believe in Allah instead of God? Be careful, you may get excommunicated...)
Really? Tell me about the crimes at Racak, Srebrenica, or Vukovar, right down to the actions of the men pulling the triggers and how they merely formed the bottom rung in a criminal conspiracy that stretched all the way up to the summits of power in Knin, Belgrade, and Pale.
Then be prepared to explain yourself to your rabid friends who will feel no compunction about spitting their harmless venom your direction for being a traitor to the cause.
And if we must talk religion, the last I heard in some quarters, Allah is God, and Mohammed was the seal upon the line of Abraham, Moses, & Jesus. But, alas, as an unbeliever Allah has placed a seal upon my heart and on my hearing, and upon my eyes there is a covering.
Undoubtedly, mine will be a great torment, but such is the afterlife of an atheist.
It's almost as worrisome as not getting any presents from Santa Claus, not finding any Easter Eggs in the back yard, or not being believed by some rabid Serb nationalist nutjob who hides behind an easily chipped veneer of rationality.
There, see? I didn't even lower myself to rubbing that Cosic quote in your face or offering any countervailing opinions as to who which groups are averse to telling the truth.
But enough of this pointless gibing - we have crimes to discuss.
For you to say "I am familiar with your position - crimes against serbs = crimes, crimes by serbs = propaganda" is perhaps your wishful thinking, but not my position; never was.
I will face any of my rabid friends, as well as your Islamic apologists, any time with the same argument.
Congratulations! You did a lot better with Allah, whom you a sworn atheist -- hold in reverence unbefitting a non-believer (why am I not surprised?). The transparency of your true nature is not in your intolerance, although obvious, but in your implicit denigration of the Christian God by placing Him on the same level as Easter Bunny and Santa Claus.
PS Poetry is best left for poets, Hoplite. You need to stick to prose down-to-earth prose.
You can't Kosta - because you know where that path leads to and that is somewhere you refuse to go - yet here you are happily going on about how willing you are to go down that path in your posts.
Enough talking the talk, start walking the walk.
The Hague doesn't care about those who've murdered Serbs - even when one of Mercep's men, Miro Bajramovic, confessed to single handedly killing scores of Serbs.
If you want a war crimes pissing contest, you'll go home a wet loser Joan.
...and Sarajevo, Zagreb, the KLA HQ, Iran, Al Qaeda, Hamas, and so on.
Memory lapses, Hoplite?
