99.99999999999% chance it is nothing.
But, this time, they may have actually found something. I guess we will find out.

Terminal serves NW Airlines. Suspicious object likely was an unopened bottle of Jim Beam.....

Maybe Komrade Katz can send some of her moose-limb office staff over to investigate. After all, she doesn't want any City employees cooperating with Homeland Security.

"Terminal serves NW Airlines. Suspicious object likely was an unopened bottle of Jim Beam.....'No they found it in the terminal not the cockpit.

PDX has a reputation for its stormtrooper-mentality TSA employees. The WSJ had a story some time ago about abuses. Mrs. Beelzebubba once had to holler at a screener rifling through her handbag out of view. I recently was treated rudely when I refused to trust my gold Swiss watch to the conveyor belt crew (they acted like being hand wanded was an inconvenience to them, and a punishment for my non-cooperation, I happily preferred it to the alternative.)
Something in the socialist waters there that breeds the brownshirt mentality. Anyone who thinks that nazi-like abuses would not be possible in modern America lacks some critical vigilance, and is blind to how eager many people are to wield a little arbitrary power over their fellow citizens.

Suspicious device prompts PDX Airport shut down
04:25 PM PST on Monday, January 5, 2004
By JIM PARKER, kgw.com Staff
A suspicious device found at Portland International Airport Monday afternoon prompted the closure of three out of five airport concourses, officials said.
Officers with the Portland Police Bomb Squad were on scene at the airport to inspect the device.

Concourses A, B and C were all shut down as a result of the discovery, authorities said. Two concourses on the opposite side of the airport, D & E, remained open.
The impact on incoming and outgoing flights was not immediately known.
Alaska and Horizon airlines operate out of concourses A & B, while carriers Frontier, Northwest and Southwest all operate out of concourse B.
No other details were immediately available.
