Thought I'd ping this out. Some young conservatives could benefit from FR!

Basically, the Conservative Club was formed to show the other side of the spectrum and another point of view.

How DARE they! Free thought has no place in public schools. It interferes with liberal indoctrination.

Well, God bless them and good luck, but I've written California off as too far gone and too infested with demented, dictatorial leftists to be a viable member of the Union at this point.

Fliers and newsletters attributed to the club have sparked controversy. One flier urged students to “take a stand against liberal traitors who call themselves teachers.” Another flier opined, "Liberals welcome every Muhammad, Jamul, and Jose who wishes to leave his third world state and come to America -- mostly illegally -- to rip off our health care system, balkanize our language and destroy our political system."

Looks like they need to take some lessons from Ann Coulter in subtlety, humor, and precision in their attacks on the Leftists.

Tim is being interviewed by Brian Sussman on KSFO right now.

After he talked about the teachers doing nothing when he was being physically threatened, a caller said he had a similar experience, and reported it to the FBI under white collar crime. He also got satisfaction.

Great idea! I'll see if I can knock out an e-mail to Mr. Levin!

Those students are very courageous. They risk being down-graded and having their academic careers ruined for their political views. They deserve our support. How can we help?

The problem with ignoring California and hoping it will go away is that it is home to about a third of this nation's population.

I fought out there for five years, and decided to pack it in a few weeks ago and head to the more freedom-oriented climes of New Hampshire, but I'm still concerned with the state of California.

I hope you change your mind about "writing California off," Viking. The very fact that these kids have started this club -- in ultra-liberal Northern California, yet -- is proof that Calfornia is NOT "too far gone."

I am a native Californian, raised by native Californians who were raised by native Californians, clear back to the mid 1800s. The rest of the U.S. has are completely unaware how conservative (not to mention rural) most of California is -- check out one of those voting maps, and you'll see that this state votes overwhelmingly conservative EXCEPT for most of the heavily populated and "artsy" coastal counties, home to cities such as San Francisco and Los Angeles. I daresay that the vast majority of screaming liberal voters are people who haven't even lived in this state for more than 25 years.

And for folks who say, "Well, you re-elected Gray Davis," I counter: Nope, I absolutely reject that notion. Davis won by voter fraud, and was recalled because we Californians knew he didnt' belong there.

Reagan didn't come from California for nothing.

Great .. I sure hope that they can help those kids.. When my oldest son was in the 8th grade, his teachers gave him a really hard time because of my political activism. They made nasty remarks about me to him in class.. There is nothing worse than a kid being held 'captive' with no recourse.

That is disgusting and cowardly to attack a captive, undefended child like that. I'm surprised you didn't meet the teacher in a dark alley.
