I'd love to know what the newly-rich foreigners are spending their money on.

Are they investing in America, like the Japanese did a decade ago?

One answer: US Treasury Bonds. Both the Japanese and Chinese buy a ton of our paper.

Some are buying bonds and mortgage backed securities- there's a reason why we are having the lowest interest rates in decades. Foreigners have to invest the dollars here or exchange it for another currency. The strength in the Euro and gold suggests were some of the money is going.
