It is amazing how much I learned from this tread and it will most likely amount to nothing more than being educational. But there is an element of suspense you have to give it that.

If there *is* a terrorist on that flight, and the pilot informed the passengers they were being tailed, maybe the terrorist would be dissuaded from carrying out his plans? If it were physically possible for him to complete his mission, why wouldn't he? But if he were somehow foiled by security, I would think he would remain incognito and leave the plane to try again later?

I want to give credit to our security apparatus, for containing/preventing a repeat of 9-11 (thus far) and thus far is the caveat... these diabolical murderers will go to any length to destroy America, including long term imbedding into a foreign airline in order to set up another attack...

In Las Vegas, where 300,000 revelers are expected on the Strip, officials announced armed military helicopters will fly overhead.

CVG is for Cincinatti, I used to fly into ACV all the time... Eureka / Arcata airport. And my rental car company always had my car waiting, right on time, in Arcadia.
I did note the weather over the usual approach, and they probably are ducking it, but the planned route probably won't be exactly a piece of cake, either, 'cause it'll no doubt take them over Gorman where they're having their share of weather this evening.

Yep. Hub is looking over my shoulder every now and again, to keep up with the progress. I'll be glad when it lands safely and nothing happens...

Thank you so much for starting this thread.
I appreciate knowing about this situation, and I have also learned a lot about air traffic from the other posters.

I just went thru the 300+ posts.
Somebody asked Kenneth for the frequency.
That is all.

"I just got back online, what the hecks going on? Has this plane landed. I don't want to read 300 posts."I just got back online and trying to catch up. As near as I can tell it has not landed yet. I think the time was to be around 5:30 if I recall.
Nothing is being said on our local news.
