The downward spiral begins in Head Start classrooms...The downward spiral begins in homes without fathers.

All of this horrible mess can/must be laid at the feet of Lyndon Baines Johnson, undeniably the worst President in American history.

"It's the shame of American higher education," said Arthur E. Levine, the president of Teachers College at Columbia University. Heaven forbid he place the blame where it belongs -- on the failed student.
Or on Teachers Colleges.

"It's the shame of American higher education," said Arthur E. Levine, the president of Teachers College at Columbia University. Darn tootin' it's a shame! It's a shame American acadamia feels compelled to treat college students like second graders.

A college class that teaches students to bring books to school has a long hard road ahead.LOL! You got that right, neighbor. And what's next? Teaching them the importance to bring paper and a pen along with the book? Teaching them the importance of showing up on time? Or paying attention in class? Lord..lord..lord..where will the pressure on these students end?

The blacks will only dig themselves out of the hole they're in when they start using Walter Williams, Condi Rice, Powell, Ward Connerly, Star Parker, Oprah, Shelby Steele, Thomas Sowell, Reverend Peterson and many other successful blacks as role models - and turn their backs on race pimps like Jackson and Sharpton... I wish you could have left Oprah out of that list of admirable individuals.
As to the article, you can only find trash like this in liberal rags. I post it only to keep good folks abreast with what the enemy is thinking. Happy New Year!!!

I worked full time, supported a family, took classes nights and weekends, paid my own tuition and made my first non-A in my senior year.
What a loser.
I have to admit, slackers like him in my classes made me look good by comparison. I was glad they were there.

Don't be so stuck up and egotistical. Excuse me? That was a little self-admonishment, I'm sure.

All of this horrible mess can/must be laid at the feet of Lyndon Baines Johnson, undeniably the worst President in American history. LBJ makes Carter and Clinton look great. Please don't get me started on LBJ. If there was ever a president who should be fried forever, it's him.

For some reason, the schools seem to have a prejudice against black boys. I only say that because I know so many people who have had this experience in my city, Virginia Beach. No, Mama, government schools absolutely SUCK!
To: neverdem
No college should treat any student differently based on the color of his skin. The brothers and the sisters should just get some homework buddies, hunker down, and study.

radiohead spoke from personal experience as a black person. I do the same. mhking does the same. None of us blame anyone (and those who know me here can vouch for my saying that I could care less what a lot of the mouth-breathers around here think). Our histories are interlaced. Therefore, there is no "whitey" history or black history. It's only American history.
Period.
Indeed.
I am the product of my own decisions and actions. I have no reason, nor cause, nor desire to blame anyone for my position in life; not some unseen "whitey", not any other boogieman someone can come up with.
And I dare say that I can speak for most other blacks (and any other minorities for that matter) who inhabit FR when I say that we're damn proud of that personal responsibility that we all bear.
