I never get picked for jury duty.
For some reason, most lawyers don't want computer programmers sitting on their jury. Might be the logic thing, who knows.
Last time, the judge asked all of us, "Do any of you belong to an organization that campaigns for harsher sentences for gun crimes?" I stood up and answered, "Yes, your honor."
"What organization?" he asked.
"The National Rifle Association," came my reply.
I swear the defense attorney's head damn near came off.

ROFL. Great story. I wonder if he/she just didn't believe that the NRA does.

"For some reason, most lawyers don't want computer programmers sitting on their jury. When I was in law school (I only went halfway before I quit) I had a professor that once told me I'd never get picked for a jury because no lawyer wants somebody who even went halfway in law school on a civil case and nobody trying a criminal case wants a former law enforcement officer and current firearms instructor on that jury. He's been totally correct for 15 years so far.
