Funny how Mars missions always seem to find incredibly unlucky situations.

While they cannot make out the ship itself, the image shows a 1 km (0.62 mile) wide crater at the center of the 70 by 10 km (43.5 by 6 mile) target area Maybe it is a very new crater - formed at 8:47 PM Christmas day.

Isn't it possible that Beagle made that crater when it crashed into the planet?

Maybe you should have put higher in "" as in "higher"?

Unless, of course, your vehicle was the cause of the crater.

Chief Beagle scientist Colin Pillinger said at a news conference that the team had received a new, detailed picture of the area where they believe the Beagle landed. You have to think they should have looked at that picture BEFORE the landing...
I wish I had a title like "Chief Beagle scientist."

They'll come up with any "explanation" that doesn't actually involve taking reponsibility. Next excuse: the dog ate my orbital elements.

It's in the Martian Museum for Alien Space Probes... The museum has the most rapidly growing collection of these probes on Mars.

How many chunks of hardware does that make that we've dumped on Mars? Works fine until it gets there, then, nothing! It is clear to me that the Martians don't want to talk to us.
