And I'm very suspicious about criminal background checks from places like Mexico.Which makes it all the more suspicious when they fail to get even a quickie fake police scan check.
To: Vigilanteman
Yup -- as in, open-and-shut suspicious!
And no, Dr. Dean, illegal aliens don't get the presumption of innocence, any more than Osama bin Laden does!

Ireland and Italy don't share a border with the United States and their immigrants didn't have the motive, means and opportunity to take over a large region of America. That one's above the IQ of most Americans and most conservatives. That is why Mexican immigration (legal and illegal) is such a problem. I don't want a joint merger with the third world world cesspit of Mexico.Huge numbers are coming here legally via familiy re-unification. Same for Central Americans. One fifth of cesspit El Salvador lives in the USA.
That family reunification policy has got to go. And the Amendment (15th?) that says that anyone born in the USA is automatically a citizen has got to be -- if you'll pardon the redundancy -- amended.

To gawd you said "Why don't you try to go to Mexico, work and send money back to the US?" What is good for the goose is not good for the gander as they say.. Article 43 of the General Law of Population (Ley General de Población)states that:
The admission to the country of a foreigner obliges him to strictly comply with the conditions established for him in the immigration permit and the dispositions established by the respective laws.
Mexico's el presidente makes it their focus to interfere in US immigration policy.. and it seems the US powers to be are in total compliance. What are we headed for? A pan-American imitation of Europe's EU?
Where does the Ley General de Población come from? Mexico?

"matching workers to jobs"Ask the high tech workers in California how their jobs got "matched" to lower paid Indian workers. Result, thousands of out-of-work Americans who have to sell their homes. Bush's plan sucks, and he knows it, but it's part of his "big plan" for America, which in ten years will resemble the third world.
Why would an American patriot have a "big plan" to turn his nation into a third-world country?

Most illegals are paying into Social Security. They pay payroll tax. That's automatic and mandatory. When they get their paycheck, 7.65% has automatically been deducted for FICA, plus their employer has to kick in another 7.65%. The illegals receive paychecks. Very few are paid in cash under the table>>>>>>
Didn't we just have a thread saying some 28% of (BROKE) LA County work 'under the table' & are paid TAX FREE CASH.
You think MILLIONS on street corners daily are getting paychecks or CASH ???
Millions of illegals are not standing on street corners, hoping for work. If that were the case, we wouldn't have 9 million-13 million illegals, because America would be an unattractive desitnation. (And I've been in that situation.) Most illegals have steady employment.

Great quotes at your "profile" (is it still legal to use that word, or must I first ask what race you are?), but aren't many of them presently illegal? You know, the ones that use a certain word beginning with "G."

Of course it is all bad.
Another kind of model this is happening to has been in medicine. HMOs created a middle man between the doctor and the patient that needs to be paid. Made medicine get worse rather than better IMO!
Same thing with this layer of illegal aliens in our society.

Gladys Esquibel, who heads the state Commission on Hispanic Affairs, says schools must change to address the needs of Hispanic students. The latest results from the state standards achievement tests show that more than half of Hispanic high school sophomores failed. Thanks for the great post. Now, why does Idaho HAVE a state Commission on Hispanic Affairs, and why did the governor appoint a traitor like Senora Esquibel to run it?

Why would an American patriot have a "big plan" to turn his nation into a third-world country? He said something like "we will be one great nation", meaning the U.S., Mexico and Canada. Guess where everyone will be? Beats the hell out of me why he refuses to protect our country. I just know that because of his policies that I don't agree with, he won't get my vote again. If I wanted to live in Mexico, I would have moved there. I don't, and I didn't.
