My daughter-in-law is an immigrant (legal) and the amount of money and paperwork they have had to endure is astounding.. They should get a refund. And I should add, my views have changed drastically regarding ANY immigration.. it is beyond ridiculous.

A friend is sponsoring someone from India to come over. Yea, were talking $1000 in applications and more for travel to and from NY! Also the friend has to go heck of a lot of red tape: background, taxes, employment verification, sponsorship requirements, etc. That's to get him here not citizenship. INS is a joke, but we don't say "well we just have to get a grip" and blanket amnesty illegals. Total overhaul is key but everyone wants to put a band-aid on it.
