Sure Bush knows how we feel, we've 'begged' him to listen. Ridge knows how we feel and obviously does not give a hoot!(Per Missouri) but if we can humilate them publicly with their decision to go against 70% of American's and it comes out in the open, then they have to face the music.

That proposal may not be 'blanket amnesty', but it's still a kind of amnesty.

Say what you will, but I won't sign onto anything that doesn't require everyone here illegally to go back home.

We don't need a single one of them here. There are plenty of decent law-abiding people that are willing to wait their turn to emigrate to our country legally, if we should decide they are needed.

For now, they're not needed.

I agree that writing in Tancredo JUST MIGHT get Bush to see the light.

Why is he dying on this horrible hill? I can see no defense or reason for him.

He is making a mockery of our current immigration laws. He is compromising national security. He is punishing the American poor by the illegals taking their jobs. He is punishing the middle class by having them helplessly watch as illegals receive free services while the middle class has to pay extra in taxes and fees for schools from K through state college, and eat up the middle class's extra health care costs by sitting in each emergency room for basic care.

What is Bush gaining? Not enough votes to make it worth it for him.

Here in Mexifornia, it seems like we are all working for the benefit of Vicente Fox.

Your right Yaelle, he will be losing more votes from us than he will gain from them. I have alot of family on the coast and if I can get those leftists to write in, then I know this is worth it ;) But I am going to try and if every other one of them agrees, thats alot for liberals -g-

Have read that the 'legals' are getting ready with a lawsuit against our gov't. They want compensation for their time, effort, and money it took for them to come legally.

Really?! That is excellent news! Godspeed to them!

Freepers in Washington State:

Legal work for immigrants - WASHINGTON - President Bush plans to kick off his re-election year by proposing a program that would make it easier for immigrants to work legally in the United States, in what would constitute the most significant changes to immigration law in 18 years, Republican officials said Tuesday. - Lobbyists working with the White House said Bush is developing a plan that would allow immigrants to cross the border legally if jobs are waiting for them. The sources said the administration also wants to provide a way for some undocumented workers in the United States to move toward legal status. - Bush will try to make the plan more palatable to conservatives by including stricter entry controls, including increased use of technology at the border, and steps toward better enforcement of current visa restrictions and reporting requirements, sources said.

Mo, we seriously need this in writing, can you track it down to the station you listen to?

The deal is that a caller to this talk radio station here in St. Louis mentioned it yesterday on the 4:00 PM show "Drive Time Live" I think.

It was only a caller and I don't know his souces so I thought maybe someone else had heard something about this statement. Maybe the guy was just exaggerating the Ridge/Bush statements.

This radio station gets all kind of radical callers which is entertaining as well as informitive.

Heres the link.

I think the write in Tancredo idea is great. Now, how do we publicize it discreetly? Bumper stickers might actually incite vandalism in places where 60-70% are from Mexico. Though why legal immigrants want illegals here is beside me. I guess they think that anyone who doesn't want millions of illegals here is racist.

FWIW

I believe the Repubs are very concerned over "hot issues".
I got a phone survey 3 days ago.
Only 3 questions.
Illegal immigration, abortion, gun control.
It had to be funded by a Calif. Repub faction to impact national policy - or a national Repub faction to formulate "positions" as my local Repub is a shoe in.
They're concerned...& they should be.

Re immigration: without enforcement - there's no dis-incentives for the illegals.
When its over, I believe we'll see registration & new incentives to control this mess.

That's not "baby steps", that's the 'whole enchilada'.

That's everything the RINOs and illegals want.

They get to stay.

They keep their stolen place in line and all of their ill-gotten gains.

That's exactly what they want.

Well, I think the best way is conservative radio and cable hosts, etc. Then contacting organizations like FAIR, etc.
We have to go wide and public, so they feel backed in a corner Yaelle ;)

Interesting. I was paid $20 a few months ago by a University to take part in a 30 minute interview, boy that was fun -smiles-

Illegal Immigration=No!!!

Do I email Susan or Nick?

Nick is the conservative on and Susan is the leftist. Nick is against illegal immigration but is somewhat a libertarian. Now remember. it was a caller who said this, not one of them.

I guess I misunderstood, I interpreted it that 'you' want what we all want but cannot have and basically that is what Tancredo wants

Numders USA

Numbers sent me about 100 of their business cards with immigration by the numbers stats, to pass out and when I do, I will ask folks to write in Tancredo.

Join with thousands of other Americans who volunteer to receive Action Alerts and to respond quickly when possible through the sending of faxes, making phone calls and other forms of action to reduce immigration numbers to healthy levels. - Joining the network costs you nothing and obligates you to nothing. Two points many posters fail to acknowledge:

1. We can't simply round up & deport all the 12-20 mil illegals.

2. A change in immigration laws in the 60's? made it possible for an "illegal" to remain in the US to care for their freshly delivered infant who was now, automatically, a US citizen !!
That law must be reversed as a first step
