"Everybody hates the French. The French have worked long and hard to gain that distinction. I say such tireless efforts should be rewarded. Therefore, I loathe them every opportunity I get."
Thats one Beautiful paragraph.

Is there a way to block posters on this forum? It'd be mighty helpful on this thread, wouldn't it?

I did transfer once I agree that would normally be the procedure, generally you go through customs at the first U.S. airport at which you land. I was thinking particularly about metal detection for items carried on the person. In this case it's a continuing flight with a change of equipment, so I'm not sure the L.A. passengers would actually go through a security screening in Ohio as opposed to simply walking from gate to gate inside the "secured" area.

Amen. No matter what, the French are still our good friends, despite what hyped-up reports you see in the media and on internet chat sites.
You forgot to mention that the French suck.

"Jihad" should be at least as dirty a word as "Nigger" or "Kike" educate me... what's a "Kike"? do you say it like "Hike"? or "Bike"? the only thing close that I knew that ya might mean was "Dyke"... but that might not be it, what's it mean?

Derogatory term for Jews.
Pronounced like "Bike"
"Jihad" is a hate crime.

Mega UGH! They had the leftist book, "Blinded by the Right" out on the living room table. Last month it was the Time magazine with the pic of Bush with a black eye.
I didn't say a word, though. They got me a propane BBQ grill this year.

The etymology of the derogatory term " kike ", is thus ...
Prior to the immigration of Russian and Polish Jews, in large numbers, to the USA, this term did NOT exist. It is an American invention, based on the " Ike " sound , at the end of many Jewish surnames, back then. The pronunciation follows the phonetic rules, that has a vowel sound its name ( a,e,i,o,u ), when a silent e follows the consonant, after the vowel.
And " hike " and " bike " are pronounced the exact same way, so why use both , as though they were pronounced differently ?

We in this country have very short memories, I hear many people including a minority on FR that have already forgot France stabbed us in the back. I can't say I hate the French but I don't trust them, will never consider them an ally and won't forget.
It won't be long before the current elected French leaders will be replaced by people that advocate rebuilding the US / France relationship. At that time a chorus of support for the idea will be heard throughout the media, but I won't forget.
