MSNBC just announced that three flights from Paris to the U.S. have been suddenly cancelled due to "security concerns". The first flight was scheduled to depart Paris heading for Los Angeles.

Ah ha, I suspected that!

She sounded familiar from another board and I read some of the other posts in her account before it got the Almighty ZOT.
Just a guess, though.

Also plausible is that they have one specific pilot in mind, but don't want to tip off.

An Air France source told AFP news agency: "We are taking all reports of any threats very seriously as we are facing the most significant threat we have had since 11 September 2001 and are reacting accordingly. "We are doing the groundwork appropriate to at least head off some additional attacks."
BBC______________
PARIS - French Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin asked national carrier Air France to cancel U.S.-bound flights on Wednesday and Thursday because of a threat to security, the prime minister's office said. "Air France has cancelled the flights scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, December 24 and 25, between Paris and Los Angeles," Raffarin's office said in a statement.
"This measure was taken at the request of Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Raffarin on the basis of information, currently being checked, which was gathered in the framework of Franco-American cooperation in the fight against terrorism and which was of a nature to threaten the safety of these flights." Reuters, via Ha'aretz.

Well, that's your opinion. But if you defend the right of someone to say "the French suck," if that's their opinion, then you also must defend the right of someone to say that Israel sucks or is a "s****y little country". Right?
NO, because the French suck.

(At this point, French bashing is too easy, and thus isn't good sport....) French bashing is always good sport. I don't remember anybody having "schadenfreude" over bashing for years the football team from the "frenchiest" city in America, New Orleans.

It would be interesting to see what flights they *are* letting out of France...and where they're bound to.

I don't know if arguing with aqualung here is worth the trouble.
Just picking a fight, I think.
So far, I've been informed that I want all of France dead.
Thankd God I'm not in charge. That would be "Pretty sick stuff!"

"The war in Iraq is a bad idea, Freedom, in my opinion and in the opinion of many American conservatives. France wasn't the only major player to oppose it -- Germany, Russia, China, India, Japan -- they all went against us. Are they bad enemies, too? "The enemies are the neocons who've taken over the foreign policy of the conservative wing of the executive branch and twist it to Israel's interests. There's nothing conservative about neoconservatism. President Bush is figuring this out, which is why Wolfowitz won't be part of what I hope will be a second Bush term. And Richard Perle's gonna be gone soon as well."
Ah, so now the real "philosophy" of Aquculture comes out. You don't like Wolfowitz. He is a Jew after all. Can't have a smart, compassionate Jew in a position of influence, right? No, you'd rather see the French sabotage us than have that happen.
For sure, I think you would happier at a nice French site. There's a lot of anti-Semitism in France. Maybe you will even consider moving there...

Those days are over. Here's what you can expect to find in France nowadays:
Cemetery for American and British soldiers who liberated France.
When the Muslims they imported start slitting French throats - which they certainly will - we will just cheer them on this time.

Don't worry, the anti-Semite twisted your words to meet his sick needs.
I certainly didn't read into your post that you wished a terrorist attack.

I would think that if the chatter about the French flights was diversionary, the real operation would already be underway. So if we don't hear anything bad soon, perhaps the French flights were indeed the targeted ones.

Lisa Myers, reporting a few minutes ago on MSNBC, made it sound like the U.S. really had to strong-arm the French to cancel these flights. It sounds like our people were very very concerned that these flights not take off.

Most flights from LAX and SFO to London and Paris are Trans Polar flights. They don't fly over the states.
