MSNBC just announced that three flights from Paris to the U.S. have been suddenly cancelled due to "security concerns". The first flight was scheduled to depart Paris heading for Los Angeles.
I could not find an article yet.

Paris to LAX would spend more time over Canada than US IMHO , pretty much come over the pole.I was wondering how much of the flight would actually be over the US. Thanks for the clarification.

Yup. I'm Astonished that a passin pilgrim from Kudzu Flats would be into aquaculture.

Fox News: All flights tomorrow from Paris to the US have been cancelled. (Confirmed.) My sympathy to the Americans who are now stuck in France...

Laughing - but seriously lets focus on the cancelled flights. Kicking the French is good entertainment but we are looking for facts on this thread.

It is more than France "opposing" the war. They actively tried to undermine America's efforts in regards to Iraq. Me thinks that France has some "behind the scenes" dealings with Iraq that were illegal. More than opposition is why most of us are not that keen on the French right now.

"Couldn't these flights be diverted anywhere in the U.S.?" I expect about 2 minutes after any diversion, there would be a couple F-16 fighters on each side of the plane.

Iraq is gonna have worse than Saddam in the near future, unfortunately. Like I said, this was a war planned by social-engineering Democrats, and social engineering doesn't work in America, Iraq, or anywhere else (including France).

I dont know that much about the flight paths. Some help please. A flight from Paris to LAX would over fly ALL of the US. If the terrorist took control of the flight on the east coast they could fly the plane anywhere in the US? So Los Angeles itself wouldnt necessarily be the target but the flight could divert quickly over its flight path??
What do you think??
I agree that is possible. Also I believe one flight was set to land in Cincinnati before proceeding to LAX, but that came from a tv reporter, and I cannot vouch it is totally correct.

The 911 planes were all west coast bound presumably to have more fuel in the crash.

Bump to find the french soap later.

Any word yet on WHY the flights are being cancelled or what the nature of the threat is? Oh, I almost forgot - France stinks. (sarcasm)

FRANCE BUILT IRAQ'S FIBER OPTIC NET.
FRANCE HAD MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR WEAPONS CONTRACTS WITH IRAQ.
FRANCE SUPPLIED IRAQ WITH URANIUM PROCESSING MATERIAL.
FRANCE WAS COMPLICITE WITH IRAQ IN SADDAM'S ATTEMPTS TO HIDE HIS WEAPONS PROGRAMS.
FRANCE OPPOSED THE REMOVAL OF SADDAM
FRANCE IS AN ENEMY.
SORRY TO SHOUT, BUT I THINK IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO GET THROUGH TO YOU!!!

CWO can you please not tell anyone that I'm going to agree with you here? I never thought I would. It's a bit scary and unusual, but you are correct sir.
Aqua; France hasn't contributed anything worthwhile to Civilization for several hundred years now. They had their time but now they're nothing more than a weak, white trash culture riddled with Islam and rampant leftism. France does suck.....they hate God and hate freedom. They need us, we don't need them.
As to describing Israel with foul language would you say the same to God regarding the land he surveyed?

I have to question why, exactly, after TWO YEARS, this is all of a sudden a big concern - planes arriving from outside the US. It doesn't make sense. The simplest explanation is we've had our ass in the wind post 9-11-01.
I'd sure like to think otherwise, but I'm finding it difficult.

Paris - Inspired by the commercial success of the United States Armys "Boot Camp" video game, the General Staff of the French Army has announced plans to market "Ultimate Surrender," a video game based upon the proud military traditions of the Gauls.
In the game we follow the exploits of Lucky Pierre, an apprentice garlic salesman from Marseilles, as he joins the French Army and begins a rigorous course of combat training.
- The First Level of the game is called "Survival School," and the players have to help Lucky Pierre survive 24 hours without red wine or crème brulé.
- The Second Level is "Capitulation," and the goal here is to see which player can have Lucky Pierre surrender the fastest without firing a shot or getting his uniform dirty.
- Level Three is "Collaboration." Here the players battle to see who can collect the largest numbers of pairs of nylon stockings and packages of chocolates by having Lucky Pierre perform sexual favors for members of the occupying forces.
- Level Four is "Be Ungrateful to America for Rescuing Your Sorry French Ass Once Again." In this extremely challenging part of the game contestants vie with one another to see who can make Lucky Pierre behave in the surliest manner when the United States inevitably comes to the rescue of the defeated French.
- The Final Level is "Pretending to Have Been in the Resistance." Here contestants compete in a battle of tall tales and whoppers as they try to protect Lucky Pierre from treason charges.

Agreed. Could be that one was for dc, one for ny, and another for LA. Departure times sync-ed so that all could be taken over and crashed simultaneously.
