The whole idea, here, Jorge, is to get Bush and the Republicans in Congress to change their minds. That's what being part of a representative democracy is all about. If we allow them to carry on, business as usual, without ever listening to their constituents...then how does that help us?

Believe me, if it comes down to an amnesty-loving Bush vs. a nutjob like Dean, I'll still back Bush. (Dean has no chance anyway.) But until then, I will do everything I can to make sure my representatives and elected officials know of my displeasure over illegal immigration. I can withhold contributions, write in other candidates in primaries, and write, fax, e-mail, call, etc.

You can't just "go with the flow" all the time, especially if the "flow" is leading you to the sewer.

Ease up on the snide remarks, there, Jorge. No me caen bien.

Ok. That's great advice coming from someone who just suggested my position on this issue leads "to the sewer".
I should be so nice.

In any case I don't agree with your letter to President Bush threatening to withdraw support for him in 2004 if he doesn't change his position to agree with you on this particular issue.
I think that's worse than "snide". That could give us Howard Dean.
