"...using his show as a bully pulpit."

The DA's leaks to the media are designed to discredit him with his listening public, to blunt his effectiveness as a conservative spokesman and opinion maker. That potentially affects not only his reputation, but his livelihood. Since he has the microphone, he's fighting back. Should he just let himself get excoriated in the media when he doesn't have to?

No he shouldn't allow himself to be slammed in the media. Howver everyshow I watched and I watch most of the news shows, there are scores of pro and anti Rush folks against each other trying to make their points doing sound bites.

Unfortunately the most lucid and sincere of those commentators last night appeared to be the lawyer representing Mrs. Cline. He was the only one answering the questions he could legally answer without using sound bite strategy. Everyone else, including the Rush defenders were among the "den of voices".

But Rush also launched into a VLWC speech. Like Slick, Rush has left chum in the water for his enemies. They are only lapping it up.

Are celebrities to be MORE vulnerable to ill-based fishing expeditions than John Q. Public? That's the argument you appear to be foisting.

Not at all, but it might appear that way to some with limited experience. I have had friends and acquaintances that have served time for doing what Rush is accused of. The investigative procedure appears to be about the same.

There is actually a right to privacy in the Florida Constitution:

Article I Sec 23 SECTION 23. Right of privacy.--Every natural person has the right to be let alone and free from governmental intrusion into the person's private life except as otherwise provided herein. This section shall not be construed to limit the public's right of access to public records and meetings as provided by law.

No doubt – that’s why I like this board. It shows a wide variety of thought.
I am curious as to why celebrity status would put some people above the law. Just as some honestly think Clinton should never have been investigated – much less impeached, and some think Michael Jackson should be above the law, there are those who believe Mr. Limbaugh should also be held to a different standard. I have never understood such idol worship of celebrities.

Which state? Or Federal? Your home of Virginia may have different constitutional protections than Florida.

Maybe he should call the ACLU........LMAO

The big cry baby has no one to blame but himself. When has he ever waited for actual evidence to persecute someone on the airwaves?

Read this article about Rush, on the fox news website, then look at the advertising below it. Coincidence?

Question....with all the hootin' and hollerin' that the gop did over clinton's affairs, why would they elect another cheater? Is cheating ok as long as you dump your wife for your mistress? Don't get me wrong, I actually like rudy, but then again, I could care less about his and clinton's affairs anyway.

above the law

The law of WHAT JURISDICTION. Answer this and it better be Florida law that you are versed in to speak from on high as you do, or SHUT UP.

Who did Rush persecute on the air without evidence? Seems to me you are doing exactly what you are saying Rush did.

"The investigative procedure appears to be about the same."

Including derogatory and prejudicial statements leaked to the media by the DA's office?

Did your friends and acquaintances get subjected to that also?

You appear to have a point. A state judge seems to willing to limit that right in drug cases however.

Alaska just had a decision affirming the citizens state granted Constitutional right to privacy in their residence, be interesting to see if it holds up to appeal.

"I have had friends and acquaintances that have served time for doing what Rush is accused of."

What is he accused of?

I am unaware of any criminal charge accusing him of anything.

And what charge(s) did your friends and acquaintances serve time for and what state, please?

What the article doesn't mention is that the prosecutor's spokesman that they want taken off the case also worked on REPUBLICAN campaigns.

The hypocrisy of Roy Black claiming this is all a big Left Wing Conspiracy. First of all, Rush is not a politician, and secondly, Black was one of the biggest Clinton supporters during the impeachment.

Just as some honestly think...

Now be honest. Is that a specific "some," or are we talking a hypothetical "some"? I have yet to hear any on this board argue Rush is "above the law" as you call it, though the liberal's dearest wet dream is for us to be as hypocritical as they are, leading to baseless charges of same.

Personally, I'm waiting for him to start running parodies of, and making snotty voice imitations of, the judge and the prosecution... It's just wonderful to have a ringside seat (via the radio) to listen to someone's self-destruction! :)

Mark reveals, BOTH Dr's work at the SAME FACILITY...one was subbing for the other and issued prescriptions while the other guy was on vacation. The third Dr. was his EAR DOCTOR!!!

"...Mommy, can I [whatever]? Yes dear, if it's OK with your Father. (run run run) Daddy, can I [whatever]? Yes, dear, if it's OK with your Mother..." And out the door we go!

It's his show, he CAN talk about what he wants BUT after a while people are gonna bolt and will (hopefully) notify his advertisers/sponsors and the radio stations too when they do (I did). Then the advertisers will 'vote' on his program content with their pocketbooks.

Has he been charged with a crime? Has he been convicted of a crime?

Have he and his lawyer been attempting to prevent the discovery of evidence?
