While I don’t believe formal charges have been filed, reports indicate that he was using prescription painkillers because of an addiction – his own admission.
My friends and acquaintances served time for abuse of prescription painkillers in Virginia. They were junkies who could no longer find heroin on the street. I don’t remember the exact charges that were filed, as it happened some time ago – but having several prescriptions for a controlled substance from several doctors at the same time for the same condition is frowned upon by the drug warriors. If it is now legal and acceptable for all, I might try it myself and finally get some relief.
