WEST PALM BEACH, Florida (CNN) -- As attorneys for Rush Limbaugh went to court Monday to try to keep his medical records out of the hands of Florida prosecutors, there have been negotiations on a possible plea bargain for the conservative talk show host, according to a spokeswoman for his radio network.

Agreed. This effort definitely has the slimey fingerprints of Clintons all over it. Rush has his responsibilities to account for, but this prosecutor is motivated by politics.

Somebody answer me!...What exactly is a large quantity? Who decides what quantity is too large? These are prescription pain-killers. The recommended daily dose - within limits - is well-known. If it's one or two, for example, and you have 10 billion in your possession then...

But you...nor anyone has been able to tell me how many if any Rush had in his possesion?
I've seen nothing.

I told the truth that Roy Black is the defense attorney of Manuel Noriega, William Kennedy Smith and Rush Limbaugh. That was all that was in the post, along with their photos.
Nothing more, nothing less. Just a client list.

" But you...nor anyone has been able to tell me how many if any Rush had in his possesion?"
Naples Daily News, Dec 5,2003
"From March to September, Limbaugh picked up 1,733 hydrocodone pills, 90 OxyContin pills, 50 Xanax tablets and 40 pills of Kadian time-release morphine, search warrant records show. The court documents indicate that sometimes less than a week would lapse between him getting different doctors' prescriptions for the painkillers.
"Doctor shopping" is a third-degree felony under Florida law, punishable by up to five years in prison."

Questions for the prosecutor are...does your office regularly collaborate with blackmailers? Of course, how naive of you to even ask.
Criminals regularly rat out their associates in order to obtain lesser sentences - especially in drug cases. Rush's maid and her boyfriend were doing just that.
That's how "justice" works.
To: ConservativeMan55
I've seen some large numbers but don't remember them or the source. In the article Rush is said to acknowledge that he possessed far more than he could justify. He oughta know.
To: Reagan Man
Wonderful post, Reagan man.
This thread has been to a great degree, riling against Rush.
And, to whom do we thank for this investigation...look no further than bill and hill...they wanted to get rid of their arch enemy, Rush Limbaugh for many years. Rush has done more good with his radio program, than anyone ever haS.
I OWE HIM A DEBT OF GRATITUDE.
Seems many posters here are rather pious, and, sactimonious with their opinions. And that does get pretty annoying!
To: Wild Irish Rogue
Cosnrvative 55 is going to parse words like how many were in his possession. To date, I don't think there has been a publication that has mentioned possession. Now for the number that was likely acquired, that I believe is a more documentable.
In this case, illegal acquisition is just as bad as possession.

Yes Joyce, but did Bill and Hill force the Vicodin and Oxycotin down Rush's throat?
Did they somehow trick him into buying the goofballs in the first place?
I'm sorry Joyce, but while there's a lot of things to blame Bill and Hill for, Rush's addiction to Drugs is hardly high up there (pardon the Drug Addict lingo).
To: joyce11111
Excuse me. How did Bill and Hill get Rush?
Did they hire the maid? Did the elect the District Attorney? Did they provide the money to maid to buy pills? Did they arrange for different doctors to give prescriptions to an addict. Did they tie Rush down and give him the pills?
Let's hope and pray Rush is cured of his demons and addictions. Let's also put the fault at where it belongs. At the feet of Rush.

" Let's hope and pray Rush is cured of his demons and addictions. Let's also put the fault at where it belongs. At the feet of Rush."
Exactly. Talking about the facts of the case,as explained by Rush and documented in the search warrant does not make one a Rush hater.I believe Jeb Bush signed the law bumping up the penalty for doctor shopping from a misdemeanor to a felony. Is he now part of a conspiracy to get Rush? Rush got himself into this and now he has to act like a man, deal with the adjudication of his case and move on. Claiming "the bitch set me up" is unworthy of Rush and makes him sound like Marion Barry. If I were advising Rush,I would have Rush hold a press conference after the deal has been struck and assuming he doesn't have further exposure in another venue, I would have Rush answer all the sniveling questions from the media-calmy,honestly and forthrightly. I would advise him not to joke or treat the situation lightly. If Rush is the first to use perjoratives like hypocrite and untruthful about himself-it will take the sting out of the slams from the left.If Rush has to plead to a felony,he will lose the right to vote. And I would have him say how this breaks his heart.I have always respected the way G Gordon Liddy handled his situation. If Rush does not prevaricate and dissemble,he could show the left, how a real man deals with adversity.

One of the entertaining things about FR, is that we can all make our little predictions on the site, and see how they pan out.Another entertaining thing about FR is watching people decide who and what this forum should and/or should not support -- and then holding a grudge when everybody else doesn't agree with them.
Lots of moralizing going on from people who claim to be "real conservatives" who've never been afraid in the past to pass swift justice -- without benefit of a court of law -- on liberals and Democrats.
Even more lecturing going on from people who claim to believe in freedom of speech. I was under the impression we were all entitled to an opinion around here. I guess I'm the wrong "shade" of conservative.

>>>Still pissed because I didn't agree with you about McClintock, huh?Not at all. Just pointing out your obvious anti-conservative agenda. First off, you didn't support conservative Tom McClintock and attempted to disparage his candidacy. Now you engage in an effort to diminish one of the main voices of political conservatism in America today. There is a distinct pattern here and it stinks to the high heaven. So be it.

Just pointing out your obvious anti-conservative agenda.Of course, you mean in YOUR opinion, right? Since we all know from the McClintock threads that you are the arbitrator of who is and isn't qualified to be a real conservative. Evidently anybody who disagrees with you has an anti-conservative agenda; and that includes a great many people on this site.
First off, you didn't support conservative Tom McClintock
As is my right under the Constitution of the United States of America, or are you now claiming that you and you alone shall decide exactly who is worthy of a member of this forum's vote?
and attempted to disparage his candidacy.
Not true. I merely stated that he should do what he said, withdraw.
Now you engage in an effort to diminish one of the main voices of political conservatism in America today.
Where did I do that? Unless you are insinuating that stating facts as I know them to be and ASKING questions about Rush Limbaugh is not allowed on this forum, that's an out and out lie.
And is it your position that because Rush has been good for the conservative viewpoint that he can do no wrong? Is nobody suppose to discuss it because of what he has done in the past? Hmmm, who does that sound like?
There is a distinct pattern here and it stinks to the high heaven.
There sure is. For some reason you've set yourself up as somebody who thinks he can decide what the people on this forum thing. And when they don't agere with them, you think it's your duty to tell them so.

Bellows said Limbaugh, who recently completed treatment for addiction to prescription painkillers, recognizes that he may have purchased drugs illegally under Florida law and "certainly had more pills than he could ever use."
*** *** ****
FL law does not care what you intended to do with the pills. The law states a specific amount equals dealer.
The Palm Beach state attorney is trying to figure out how to put rush in possession of a dealer amount of drugs. Ususally this is done by catching the person red handed with the drugs.
Here they are trying to use the maid to say she "saw" him with the dealer amount of drugs. Also under FL law, a dealer is ineligible for a downward departure from the mandatory sentencing guidlines. Another incentive for the Palm Beach Democrats.
The state will still have to figure out how the drug dealer maid and her husband are going to be able to testify the drugs they are alledging were actually Rush's and not part of their own dealing.
