IMPEACHMENT IS FOREVER - HAPPY CLINTON IMPEACHMENT DAY!
self | Friday, December 19, 2003 | Kristinn

Posted on 12/19/2003 5:09:03 AM PST by kristinn

Congratulations! It was five years ago today the House of Representatives impeached President William Jefferson Clinton for perjury and obstruction of justice.

Those brave representatives survived an all-out war of political brinksmanship which included public threats of retaliation and private threats to bring down the government if Clinton was impeached.

James Carville threatened Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr with "kneecapping;" Alec Baldwin called for the murder of House Judiciary Committee Chairman Henry Hyde; George Stephanopoulos passed along the threat to employ the "Ellen Romesch defense"--a public blackmailing of Congress; Hillary Clinton said on the Today Show that those plotting against her husband "would have alot to answer for" when this was done; Paula Jones was called "trailer trash" and worse for simply seeking justice and an apology; Linda Tripp had her reputation destroyed by a conspiracy of Clinton administration officials and media operatives. Even Monica Lewinsky feared for her life and kept the infamous blue dress stained with presidue for insurance.

Thank God that people like Linda Tripp stood tall and refused to back down in their determination to see that a president of the United States could not commit felonies in office with impunity.

And thank God for people like Jim Robinson, Bob Barr, Gary Aldrich, Alan Keyes, Larry Klayman, Lucianne Goldberg, Billy Dale and all the rest who spoke at, organized and attended Free Republic's nationally televised rally supporting Clinton's impeachment on October 31, 1998.

You done good! Impeachment is forever. You can be proud that in America's hour of need, you answered the call to preserve protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.

This country will never be the same or at least until this generation dies out.The Democrats have been seeking vengeance every since the election and the impeachment and intend to take no prisoners.
If the Democrats are not taken down big time in the Congress America will eventually be torn apart and anyone that cant see this is blind. It is all coming from their base of liberals. They are not going to let this rest if it means destroying the country. It is politics and power and to hell with America.
There are two scenarios in this upcoming year that I look to happen.
The terrorist have got to hit America to create a political problem for Bush because they fear him and know he will fight.
Next someone from within the Democrat Party will come to the forefront like a mediator and peacenik to gain power for them. You watch and see and mark my words.
The terrorist are just looking for the right time and the Democrats are aiding them knowingly or unknowingly.

Happy? It was one of the most pathetic failures of the Republican party - they wimped out and let the DemoRats remove most of the charges and destroy the trial before it began.

A day of mourning more like - mourning that the sociopath got away clean and that the "good guys" cared more about opinion polls than doing the right thing.

Along the same logic, if men didn't have the right to be president, we wouldn't have had to look at clinton for 8 years. Male hormones were his problem after all.

Thanks for posting.

It was a wonderful day to see the beginnings of justice done. Thanks to you, and to all of us who called, wrote, implored our reps to vote for impeachment.

I remained unhappy, though, that Bush/Ashcroft have chosen to ignore crimes, government corruption, by others in the vast Clinton criminal gang.

Still, it was historic, wasn't it? Nothing can change that.

FReepers chased Bill out of the country in 2001, forcing him to get his filthy lucre overseas. With his type, you take your moral victories as they come. We hurt him that year, too.

My respect for the DC Chapter is immense.

Whoooooaaahhh. Who ever said anything about "Nixon"??

Ummm, perhaps my mistake, but at 75, you said ...

How this man can walk around so smug and have groupies still at his feet, is amazing. Talk about a double standard. Remember what happened to the last Republican who was impeached. Disgraced for life.

The only US Presidents who have been impeached are Andrew Johnson (Senate trial in 1868) and Billy Clinton. Johnson was not a member of the Republican party. So, I assumed you meant Nixon when you wrote "... the last Republican who was impeached. Disgraced for life."

Johnson was a National Unionist, who started out as a Democrat, and than ran and served against the Democrats on the GOP national ticket, in 1864, going on to finish out the Republican term of President Lincoln.

The ticket on which Lincoln and (Andrew) Johnson were elected in 1864 was that of the (National) Union Party. It was called that because it included War Democrats, as well as Republicans. And (Andrew) Johnson was put on the ticket precisely as a prominent War Democrat. I don't think he ever called himself a Republican.

THANKS.

May his fortunes continue to decline as long as he's unrepentant; hostile to The Republic and The Constitution and a genearal all around traitor to all that is decent and good.

Andrew Johnson, disgraced for life? Wasn't he reelected to the U.S. Senate by the Tennessee legislature in 1874? Strange kind of disgrace.

<<it was chris matthew's fantasy when he said that the xxxlintons were cheated out of 911; other libs joined in and spouted that xxxlinton was denied his legacy because it happened on W's watch<<

That is a really sick statement by Matthew's.

And possibly crafted just to distract from the
real role the Clinton Administration played in
bringing 9-11 on us.

The Hard-Left is so twisted. Up is Down, Evil is Good,
that it just boggles the mind.

Wishing harm and death to over 3000 civilians and firefighters so that Bill Clinton could have his name
in the History Books is on the level of Hitler building
Concentration Camps to honor Hitler's legacy.

The fact that Matthew's said this, is really an admission of guilt on the left's part. Mentioning Bill's name was intentional to confuse the reality tossed in front of us.

The terrorist attack on Sept. 11, 2001 was designed to elevate NY Senator Clinton's stature and be a part of HER legacy.

Never Forget
