Of course, most of THOSE are people who would sooner see me killed for my views as well... Well I, for one, am happy to have you around. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Thanks. You would know a lot better than me. Bottom line is Karenga is a nutcase who cobbled together a black nationalist type holiday. Black people can be Christian Muslim and Jew, each religion has plenty of holidays and holy days.

I happen to be Jewish, after converting from Catholicism. You're right. I have plenty of holy days (and plenty of guilt) to go around, w/o bringing in Kwaanza. Happy Hanukhah, y'all!
To: radiohead
So being Black wasn't tough enough so you converted. Are Jewish too. Happy Chanukah and I won't tell any Sammy Davis Jr. jokes :)

I'm into Festivus, personally. Each year, around this time, during the Airing of the Grievances, we bitch about Kwanzaa.Festivus Ping!

Festivus will occur next Tuesday. We already have the Pole, and our Grievances lists are ready. I'm getting pumped for the Feats of Strength, because as you know, Festivus does not end until the head of the family is pinned.

I am promoting MY holiday, which is based on the Danish heritage of my father. I am calling it "The Nine Nights of the Nordic Lights." It requires eating lots of pastries, open-face sandwiches, and beer. On the ninth night, there is a huge bonfire in which we will burn Kwanza cards.
I am THERE!

As you know, it is the Festivus Pole that bears special meaning to me!
The pole is tall, silver, hollow, long, skinny, and heavy.

Festivus ping?
To: Xenalyte
And also, have a RamaHanuKwanzMas.
(Stolen from Glenn Beck. This greeting is intended to be all inclusive. There's even a song.)
RamaHanuKwanzMas is sung to the tune of "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas"
Have a RamaHanuKwanzMas,
And a happy time all year,
It's PC
To be an enemy,
Of all the Christmas Cheer.
So have a RamaHanuKwanzMas,
Its the way to squelch some joy,
You'll make frown,
Or bring right down,
Some happy girl or boy.
Screw You,
A.C.L.U.
For ruining our day.
Now there's only one way
To have a holiday,
Have a RamaHanuKwanzMas,
(and on)

There's someone here, or who used to be here anyway, mafree, who celebrated Kwanzaa and used to holler at all the rest of us, for putting it down factually.I'm still here and still plan to celebrate Kwanzaa along with Christmas, which is what I've always done.
