"Hitting the grindstone"
"Burning the Midnight Oil"
"Fighting the good fight"
Just pick one. LOL!!!! Working out some problems that were found during our testing portion of the project!
How have you been? I haven't gotten to get to visit the Canteen much lately. BLAH!!!!
To: SouthernHawk
"Fighting the good fight" I like this one. We all have been missing you. I'm not doing too badly. Several trips to the chiropractor and my neck and shoulder, I think, are finally on the mend. Getting back to my own bed is a good thing. Ya still got a light at the end of that tunnel?

Oh Fawnn, you don't know how much I have missed that! LOL!!!
THANKS from the bottom of my heart! How are things going for you? Hope that all is well.
To: SouthernHawk
Still working overtime, are you? I'd hoped things had slowed down for you by now.
I've been busier than I cared to be but things have slowed back down ..... a little. LOL! Been trying to catch up at FR all night and made a little headway.
Did you get any "s-word" tonight? The rains scooted out of here before the temps dropped, fortunately, but I heard parts of the state got a little of the white stuff. brrrrrrr!

In re - peltast :
He held the javelin lightly with his fourth and fifth finger, while the second and third finger were hooked around a noose which was attached to the javelin. When the javelin was above his head he released it and gave it a final swing with the noose.
This is the first Ive heard of this, a cross between the hunters throwing stick and the sling. This arrangement would give a good boost to the power of the arm. Im glad I learned something today.
The Spartans were convinced that Epaminondas did not want to fight that day as both parties were tired after marching long distances, and why else would he choose a defensive position in the foothills and lay down his weapons?
Battle field deception! Nothing much new in the world.

Got a little as I was driving in this morning. Nothing sticking yet, but it looks like it may.
I'd hoped things would slow more then they have. It has been a little less workload. After the New Year's holiday, there will be a few U-G-L-Y months before some sense of normal kicks in in the spring! It's OK, I really hate being bored. The bad part is that I miss the Canteen really bad. I haven't been able to keep up and I am afraid that I may miss something important!
To: SouthernHawk
You're very welcome!
As for things personally: Been better; been worse. Today will hopefully be one of the better days. If all goes well, I'm leaving in around an hour to spend the day with the daughter and grandkids!
