Good morning, Aeronaut and Otto, and thank you both for your dedication to the flyover of protection for our troops' Canteen, a place where we offer a "touch of home" for our troops, our veterans, their families, and our allies. Hope you guys are staying warm.

1867 Birth of Amy Carmichael, Scotch_Irish missionary. She went to India in 1895 under the Zenana Missionary Society, remaining there without furlough until her death 56 years later. An invalid her last 20 years, she worked to rescue children from Hindu cult prostitution, and founded the Dohnavur Fellowship in 1925.

Amy Carmichael was one amazing lady.

Good morning afternoon, beach. You know how it is with so many kids. In and out, here and there, hard to keep track of. What's a Ma to do?

I will be praying for you and your housemate! Make sure to ask TEXOKIE to add him to her deployed soldiers prayer list. And keep me posted about you. I know several people who are headed over after the first of the year as well. I am so glad that they are able to first spend Christmas with their families. They -- and you -- are America's true heroes. Give your housemate my appreciation!

Well ya'll, SqueezIt GiggleLips is begging for a turn at the computer and then her brother, Fluffy GiggleLips wants a turn, so I guess I'm booted. I'll get 'em back later though -- SCHOOL! LOL! Thanks everyone for keeping the doors of the Canteen open!

An aside, our local news did a feature on our local USO at Lambert Aiport last night. Brought a few tears for me. I told hubby if I am ever in a position to do it (kids grown and gone, etc) I would like to volunteer there. I was planning to watch Ollie North's War Stories last Sun. night about the USO, but it was sidelined by little piece of good news about the captured piece of human refuse known as Saddam. Hopefully they'll recue and run it this weekend! :o) (Not that I minded being pushed aside by that GOOD news, mind you!!)

HUGS to all!
