WASHINGTON - Democratic presidential candidates welcomed news Sunday of Saddam Hussein's capture, saying the arrest of Iraq 's former dictator marked a great day for U.S. soldiers, the people of Iraq and of the world.
What they really wanted to say!

Great stuff! Maybe we should start a thread where real quotes from the Hillarys, Deans, Kerrys, Kennedys, Daschles, etc. can be compiled. This great event will no doubt morph into a negative outcome in the days and weeks ahead (in the left's mind). Could prove to be a real trove of leftist b.s. as the elction season draws near.

I'll bet Sheets Byrd is already trying to earmark the $750,000 found with Saddam as restitution for Pvt. Lynch's service and that the money should build the Robert C. Byrd King of Pork memorial statue in Palestine, WV!

The DNC wants to be his legal counsel, guaranteeing him the right to not explain where all the Weapons of Mass Destruction lay hidden. Maybe Janet Reno can be his lawyer.

Yes, in happier times for Danny. Maybe he'll have to cozy up to Kim Jong-Il now, since it might be tough to hang with Saddam for the foreseeable future.

Oh I know, it was funny though. Relieved though that it doesn't qualify for a hugh/series award.

I was at the gym watching him on TV. I couldn't hear what he was saying but he sure looked misirable.

This will boost Gephardt in Iowa. Dean's anti-war routine looks even more ridiculous now. The sane Dem voters might realize that now. There aren't that many sane demo voters and the caucus is mostly party faithful. If Dean keeps up his hate Bush act he will be speaking to the vast majority of the demo party faithful.

"The DUers are reeling.....Worth the trip." I've only been to DU once and that is because *I* was being talked about over there because of a thread I posted here. That was funny and worth the trip. This time, I'll just take you word for it.

In one or two weeks the DNC talking point will be "squandered opportunity".
Germany probably said, "congrats, now pleeeeaaaase give us a job."

I'm begining to think that I should pay closer attention to Al. He is fast becoming a leading indicator of impending bad news for Democrats. Each time he steps up to draw attention to himself something disastrous happens to the dems.
