CNN anchor: Clearly morale was spiraling down ... what do you think it will be like today?

CNN Reporter: I think by judging the discussion with people in the streets, there is great understanding that this is a pivotal change in the history of the country. We don't see a large presecne of people. As you can hear just over my shoulder there is a long burst of AK 47 fire and it hasn't stopped over the past few minutes.

There was alot of dejection when 300 troops decided to resign. The mood is changing fast.

Anchor: Is this happening now... the people finding out?

Reporter: This morning nobody had a sense that something was in the works. About an hour and a half ago I started to notice people milling around. In the past 30 minutes the news is spreading like wildfire. People are coming out of their shops and greeting fellow Iraqis.
