ABC's military "expert" (a Army Mag. Gen.) said at 7:10AM EST before the official announcement of Saddam's capture that his arrest had (paraphrase) "no tactical or strategic value."How could he possibly say that since Saddam can broker a deal now if he comes clean on the WMDs - either he tells us he had them and he destroyed them, gave them to various baddies, or hid them for future use. The capture of Saddam is huge.
More importantly, does the DNC have enough time to fax out new talking points before the morning talking head shows, or will they all be working with Friday eve's script, 'We still haven't captured Saddam Hussien or Osama!'

Did anyone on the Left ever say something on the tube that ever make any logical sense? Just because the man wore a uniform doesn't innoculate him from liberal thought.
Saddam's not in a position to bargin squat from jail because he's going to die, WMD info or not. He has a choice of dying now or later and at who's hands. He's really a security risk for us now as the Iraqis, whom he's terrorized for decades, know we have him in custody and they might not want to wait for the war crimes trial.
I'm glad that this news is breaking really early on a Sunday. There's not enought time as you said for the DNC mind-control types to decide if the capture of Saddam is really a Good Thing(tm) or not. This shouldn't be a tough question to answer but based on their past performance, they won't have it figured out by the Sunday morning roundtable shows. How the DNC responds will make it self-evident if the Democratic party is "with us or against us" so to speak.

New DNC talking points? I'm betting the following:
- This is a golden opportunity for the Bush administration to solidify international support by turning Hussein over to the UN for subsequent release in the nation of his choice.
- If George Bush had not cut taxes on the wealthy, we would have captured Hussein months ago.
- The Bush administration must immediately answer serious questions that certain environmental regulations were violated during Saddam's capture.
